Does anyone know what the grooming schedule is expected to be between Christmas and New Years? Mainly Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.

Just curious if they groom every day:D or what since it is so busy :eek:on those days.

Grooming - Snowies

We're leaving in a few hours for the Snowies, hope the grooming is better than last year for this week. Rode 3 times last year and the grooming was terrible all three times. Hope the state has the problems resolved this year.

Any current grooming reports?

who rides trails anyways.the trails at the snowies will always be rough.

It is noticable that they are grooming on a much better schedule while leaving (to my knowledge an additional snowcat based in Albany), I just don't know what the schedule is. Why don't you email your questions to snowmo@state.wy.us.

They are the ones calling the shots and should be the ones giving the answers.

We were gladly pleased with the grooming on our last trip. Good question though, curious as to know whether there is a schedule or method for grooming

I was told by the trails people that there is not a published grooming schedule and all they could tell me for sure was they are grooming all the trails.

I have found that asking the trails people about grooming seems to be a sore subject. They may tend to forget who pays their salaries.

who drives to the mountains to ride the trails? :p

Uh, lots of people, including many that live there, newbies, people who are out for the scenery, some wives and kids, boondockers looking for the quickest way to get to the backcountry & the quickest way back to the truck at the end of a hard, low fuel level day, etc.

grooming - Snowies

We don't have a helicopter to get to the powder and different riding areas, we take the trails.

It seems to me the local establishments would greatly benefit from having well groomed trails in place. Our group likes to start early and take a beer and burger break, dropping upwards of 100 bucks. With trails that are pure crap, we have started to take our lunch and refreshments with us ( imported from Iowa and everywhere inbetween - even husker nation ) WAKE - UP people !!!!!! you need to spend money to make money

P. S. - Maverick motorsports has taken a beating on Snowest lately, people need to put themselves in their shoes once. I can see both sides of the story. Great job putting the service trailer at the Lodge. Jason ( Iowa boy ) is doing a great job. An example of spending money to make money for everyone's benefit

all the dealers from laramie have always treated us right! you guys want to complain about dealers and sevice places that Rape you try northers Wisconsin! Props to the people who take care of us while we were out there!!! a bad trail in wyoming is the best trail in the U.P.!!! and a $10 part out there cost $10 at home and $25 in the U.P.

Quit Beetching!!!!!!

PS. get out passes and fuel and supplys at the Fly store every day! that fella who runs that place is a dam nice guy and he always remembers us!

End Rant!

Had to hit the trails a little saturday. The trails are in great shape.
1000 fold better than last year at this time.
Some of the corners are whooped out but that is normal.

im pretty sure the state pays thier salary... not you so put that card back in your pocket.
wtf are they supposed to do limit the amount of people on the trail? nothin they can do about the mass of out of staters on holiday weekends, so if you dont like the trails dont come. plain and simple

been there done that

I was one of those Iowa Boys. Back home now. Had a great time. I parked at Albany and if the FS is going to charge $5 maybe they should make the lot bigger and clean it at night. It looks to me like they have the parking permits in place but no one to enforce it. The trails on the east side were great. Rode most of Friday on smooth trails. I was the first sled down "B" to Wycolo. Good snow everywhere. Rode Albany to B then south on T then south on A to R and to Wycolo to warm up. Back to R north to C back to Q and back to Albany put on 125 miles. We got off and played in meadows along the way. Thursday we found deeper snow on the west side up around N and NO (4 - 5 foot). The snow for us Iowa boys is different. It is a mixture of sleet and dust (Suger and flour). Its almost like riding on water. The suger snow is like little ball bearings. If you slow down you are stuck. Spent most of the afternoon pulling stuck sleds and helping others pull stuck sleds. The major trails were groomed but could have used more. Some trails were never groomed this year like M and X. Still how do you groom suger with no base. The snowies are have awsome senery and riding conditions for everyone. I doubt if I make it back again this year ( $800 for 2 days riding wife stole my Visa card - gas is expensive for that 1400 mile pull) but for those who can you won't be disappointed.

I'm sure your correct, its either the state or federal money or both. The more money we out of staters spend, the better for your local economy year-around. Everytime we get our card out it makes it better for your entire state.

For the trail conditions, no you can't limit any people, but you know better than anyone, the trails at one time were better maintained than they are currently. This year they are 100% better than last year.

Telling anyone not to come is cutting your throat - Plain and simple

Rode out of Albany Saturday and Sunday and found the trails in great shape both days. The main trail did start to get a little whooped at the end of the day but like previously stated that is to be expected on such a busy weekend.

I guess those here in Wyoming aren't the best in doing complicated stuff like math and economics and such. I look at one opinion of yours (or your 2 cents worth) earlier in this thread ("With trails that are pure crap") I would lable it negative or -2 cents.
Using Wyoming math, add it to another opinion of yours in the KUODS TO THE SNOWY RANGE GROOMERS thread in which you said "The grooming is 100% better than this time last year - keep up the good work", I would be a value of a positive 2 cents. No matter how I figure it, when I add your two opinions together, I keep coming up that your opinions are worth 0 or nothing.
Nothing is wrong with our economy other than we have things that everyone wants a piece of but chose to live somewhere else. Theres only so much heaven to go around and now we get complaints that the money, thats burning a hole in your pocket, is not being utilized enough to suit your fancy. We have enough appreciative people coming out here, to make things meet somehow. I'd say stay home, it is your choice of coming out here. Evidently Wyoming snowmobiling leave much to be desired but I still think that Wyoming economics is not a welfare case.
