Snowy Range Forecast

Heading out one week from tomorrow..... Forecast looks SNOWY for the next 5 days! Riding a 2008 M1000 and going to rent a 2011 M8 the last day.... Not sure if I want to upgrade or customize my M1000.

It looks snowy, but has been windy. Would love to hear from someone who rode up there in the last couple days.....

I'm going tomorrow, will be riding out of Albany since a friend is renting an M8 from the Lodge.

The high temps lately have 'set' the snow up to hard pack but if a person searches near the treeline there is still some powder to be found. Not that much but still a little. Weird weather here in Laramie for the past week!? But, snow was dropping @ Albany lodge this afternoon. Snotel is showing basic settling of about a foot all across the board(Cinnabar, North French, Sand & Brooklyn Lake). I still think the infamous Punxsutawney groundhog is full of crap!

Rode Friday, pretty much deserted riding out of Albany, hardly saw anybody else all day. There was maybe 6" of fresh on top of a pretty good crust. Broke through in some places but was generally set up underneath. Still found some good deep stuff in the trees. We didn't go too far off trail since we had a newer rider with us. Didn't snow at all while we were there, was mostly clear, some sun, and warm. And hardly any wind.

Sounds like they are supposed to get some snow throughout the weekend and a chance almost everyday through thursday. Hope they get dumped on! Gonna be riding wed-sat.

We are heading out Wednesday and will be riding Thur-Sat as well! Can't wait - been to Big Horns but never been here before!

Forecast looks promising...... Looks like its supposed to start snowing on Thursday.
