Snowmobiles banned in Cali?

That's rediculous. There's no way they could ban snowmobiling for the whole state. We really need to bring more people into the sport in Cali. We have amazing riding here and most people are unaware of it. We need more snowmobiling events to promote the sport. That link pisses me off.

What a bunch of horse hockey this has become. The statement very few areas in Cali. are protected is complete non sense. The other statement about hundreds of thousands of new snowshoers is even worse. We all need to stay active in this dribble.

We all know these "groups" are ignorant and really have no common sense, but it won't do us any good unless we fight back against them. Check out this link to SAC's, (Sierra Access Coalition) website. SAC is getting ready to file a lawsuit against the USFS on their Plumas National Forests' new travel management plan. Snowmobilers are next... if we can fight them now on cross country travel for motorized vehicles during the dry months we may be able to head them off when it comes to winter travel. SAC needs donations.

I will say this. Elko Co. has been knocking back the USFS roadless initiative for more than 2 years now. As I understand from minimal research, we are one of the last few (if not THE last) place in the country where the roadless plan HAS NOT been implemented. Against the USFS we have county commissioners, city councils, legal representation, the Jarbidge Shovel Brigade, the gold mines backed by the large number of ranchers and recreationists... originally, the plan when first rolled out called for multiple hundreds of miles of road closures. Two days ago... it was reported the EIS (enviromental inpact study) was completed and called for 130 miles of 2,170 miles of closure... that is acceptable... STEP IT UP CALI, or you WILL LOSE!

THIS is EXACTLY how it started years ago in Elko. USFS rolled out the original closures... hundreds of miles of them! The first meeting for public comment turned over 700 angry locals. Since then, the USFS has rolled out "revised" plans over and over... and have thrown them back in their face. We have legal representation in court.... you will need it as well! To date... we are WINNING (by the way)

These stupid chookfooters don't realise we are the ones that come and save there arse's when they get in to trouble out there. Let them bitch and moan!

True Niko, In CA they will just find a way to add some more tax and fee's and they will be fine. It is amazing what you can get away with if the state makes money off of it. I agree, bring more people to the sport and show how great this land has to show.

Yes I agree to all of the above on this B.S., I'm 54 years old and have rode everything I can in the Forest ( Public Lands) these selfish Pri^&s. And yes where is CNSA,Blue Coal., I have donated hundreds of dollars over the past couple of years!! But can't afford to give anymore! And that sucks!!! I have wrote letters to ours Goverment Officials and gee no responce!!Our local F.S. here has made some of the stupidest comments about riding on Sonora Pass, (The hill needs to rest)(The animals need time to relax) and other statments like this all from our Head ranger out of the Summit Ranger Dist. That also has said ( This my Forest and I will do what I want) All said in front of a Reporter from the Modesto Bee Newspaper reporter. These people like the hikers,Mountain Bikers and alike can't bitch about anything They don't pay jack **** for anything!! We pay our green sticker fee's so the Forest Service spend it on some closers on us,Why can't they spend it on trail maintainance, trail managment, At an offroad meeting here a couple of years ago they showed some pics of trail stuff that was about 5 years old!! But of coarse they denied that Quote. I hope we can get people jacked up on this and get more crap headed there way !! I will continue to Ride my Quad, Snowmobile,Cut firewood or anything else in and on MY,Our Public Lands.
