Thought I'd share this video a friend captured last year of one of his buds dropping off a cliff - guess he was sidehilling and didnt realize where he was when he dropped down. Here's a short video...

And thats why you have to look at your line both up and down and know where you are going to come down before you ever climb any hill in the mountains. I hope he was ok. That looked like it hurt.

Oh ya and tell him next time to not gun it like he did. It could have been just fine if he would have just let off the gas after he went off. That is one instance where the phrase "if in doubt goose it" doens't apply.

Just less throttle and he had that. or he could have side hilled back the other way.

"sidehilling" is when a machine with 2 skis has to struggle to get across a slope more than 5 degrees...something a 1 ski machine has NO TROUBLE with...id like to try side hilling,maybe next year at hawkfest i can try a 2 ski machine.will one of the 2ski riders come to hawkfest and try a hawk so i can try a 2 ski sidehiller? or atleast a long track with nitrous and point me up the hill!!!!
