snowmobile trailer tires conversion

If you can figure out how to get 14" under there you'll be better off. It's hard to find 13" tires with any sort of a load rating on them.

I had a Triton with 8" tires. 10" would fit, but if you go bigger, you need spacer blocks between the axle and frame and that requires aluminum welding.

On the Sledbed trailer I had it also had the 10" tires on it, I changed them out to 13" tires, but had to add a spacer for clearance. On the spacer I just used a 2X2" aluminum block drilled to match the existing holes in the axle and frame then bolted everything up tight.

Lots of trailers with 12" tires/wheels Using 5.30 x 12 now get 4 for @ 125.00 "real" trailer tires to.

Take a look at your axle. If if is a spring unit, you may be able to buy a block and add longer u-bolts. You may really luck out and have the spring located under the axle right now. If so, just take the u-bolts off and relocate the axle under the spring. If it's torsion, you may have to fab up a piece of tubing or something. Oh yeah - if all else fails, contact triton. I know the 13's are an option, so they must have a kit to provide clearance for them.

13's really are a pretty good tire. B 175 13's are rated at 1370 lbs each and will easily carry an aluminum trailer and 2 sleds (even if they are Poo 900s, Thundercats or RX-1's).

I think swapping out to 14's is really overkill, but to each his own. Good luck!
