Snowmobile selection

I am trying to help a friend in finding a snowmobile she likes. Some background: She is 5' 7" and around 100 lbs. She has had back problems and only likes to trail ride. She has had a 2010ish polaris trail 550 that was to hard to steer and currently has a 2014 polaris pro 600. She is obviously petit and doesn't have the ability to muscle a sled down the trail. She feels the 600 is just too big for her but I am not aware of anything much lighter than that. Any recommendations on a light weight, easy to handle trail sled? Thanks in advance!

600Pro is about the lightest sled out there and easy steering. My 9 and 12 year olds can drive and steer my pro and M7 easily. Easier than his 20yr old skidoo. My wife has no issue trail riding/ steering her M7 either.
None of them have the skill or lead in their shorts to handle the sleds in powder either.
Guess what I'm saying is if a pro6 is too big to handle then not much else to do. Even the 550 pro chassi sleds weigh as much as a pro.
Now if it's pushing due to long track or unstable turning from narrow ski stance for her then maybe a X over or trail sled would be preferable. Long tracks do make sleds handle like crap on the trails.

Sounds like you need to spend some time tuning the suspension front and rear and possibly adjust the handle bars to give her better leverage over the bars. Most often guys will set the sled up for them and just ASSume the women will ride it the same way . they don't. The polaris 600 is about the lightest sled out there as mentioned. But they all can be a Bitch to steer and handle if not set up right for the rider. Most sled are set for a average male rider this side of 200 lbs. I would go into the powder room section of the forum and start asking the ladies how they have set up their sleds. I have read the women really like the polaris chassis so "SET UP" is the key here

The suspension setup is a good point. I have no idea how it's setup and you are probably right as it is probably how ever the dealer set it up when the bought it. Thank you for the advice of asking in the powder room for sled setup!
