I need to get insurance on my new sled and was wondering which company has the cheapest rates. Dont want to pay alot for insurance. Cheapest i have found is 29.00 amonth and that seems high to me. Wondering what others are paying.

That is high, I paid $134 for the whole year through State Farm on my 08 M8. That is $11.16 a month. But my family has been with them for 25+ years so that might make it a little different.

it all depends on sled/coverage/age and driving record ( i was amazed that my sled insurance was effected by a couple speeding tickets that i got a couple years ago) i'm only 22 and have 1 near total claim on my insurance and i pay $25/month through nation wide( full coverage w/ $3,000 extra coverage for add ons and a $250 deductible). they had the best rates with the lowest deductibles out of the companies i shopped.

$240 year thru State Farm on 09 M8 with full coverage including trailer.

Allstate, full coverage on a 2010 XP X for $206 per year, $500 deductable.

Allsate $213.00 year, 07 Rev XRS full coverage with additional $4K in add ons. Best to call around as rates will vary by many factors, age, location, driving record, discounts, credit score, etc.....what one person will pay will be different on what the next person will pay.

Not too proud of this one...

Totalled out a sled two years ago, bought it back from the insurance company but never reinsured it. Rate at that time was $320 through Foremost for a 2004 REV, full coverage.

Have since sold the sled and bought a new holdover 2010 XP. Had my insurance broker look into policies for the new sled...over $1,200 for full coverage now...ouch! Besides totaling out the sled two years ago I have a flawless driving record, no tickets, and good credit. Long story short...expect your rates to go WAY up if you total out a sled...duh. :frusty:

Other than that...Foremost was great! My two cents!

Got insurance from State Farm today on 07 Apex Mtx Se and 10 foot single axle home made trailer for 178 yr, 14.83 month. TonyG

Sore Subject 4me

I pay just a couple over 400 for a year at Foremost , but then I did fail my last road side olympic meet with the Laramie P.D. , the insurance hassel has been the longest drugout affair of the whole D.U.I. charge . Take it from me CALL A CAB . Thats my 2 cents . My sled is 2010 800 and 1000 deductable with full coverage.

$23.41/mo Full coverage - Collision/Comp/Liability through American Family Insurance. $500 deductable - 2009 Summit Hillclimb

Greetings Dragon900,

My Bride deserves the credit for lowering our insurance rates. I'm grateful she makes the time to review our insurance needs, she reviews our insurance needs annually the cost savings is well worth the effort.

I previously operated on the belief that having all of our insurance needs provided by one vendor would lower our rates, however not the case in our situation. Today our insurance providers are a blend of two different vendors.

Our sleds, trailer & vehicles are covered with various policies from Liberty Mutual, rates shown below are yearly.

*'02 Polaris = $133
*'03 Polaris = $147 (No explanation why this sled is higher)
*'07 Polaris = $131
*100K/300K Liability & 200/deductable
'03 Charmac enclosed = $86
100K/300K liability & $250/deductable

We also use Haggerty as an insurance provider, as well.

Happy shopping,

Craig.
