Snowmachine Lodges

After reading another post- How many lodges tell their guests of bad weather or the need to wear the right snowmachine suit? Have they told you to carry supplies? Would a lodge tell the people to stay inside?

Any lodges that do should get the business

Well you should always be wearing the proper apparel, whether its a perfect bluebird day or not. Same goes with supplies to carry, always should be on ya.
Sure a lodge could warn ya to not go out, but unless your riding(renting) their sled I believe that might be a tough sell sometimes, if you got all your own equipment.

I have been to the Box Y lodge near Alpine a few times and they were very open about avy conditions and places to go and not to go.

Safesnowrider. I agree that lodges need to be giving out information. We are posting the current avalanche report and the weather forecast in our lodge for our guests to check on. We have available for rent beacons and gear.

I know that may do not like a guide but if you are riding in a new area, we recommend a guide for a least one day. Have a great day and ride safe.

Only a lodge owned by Obama would be able to do everything for 50 plus guests! Mountains are for people who are prepared to take care of themselves! Lodges can only make suggestions to people who will listen which are becoming fewer and fewer each year! Unless you get lost on a trail you would die most of the time if you are not capable of getting yourself out. All this information is provided at most lodges or on the net if people are willing to listen and learn. You don't know how many times lodges have warned of loose hills or weather and away they go to the nearest hill. Sorry, loosing faith in common sense!!
