Leaving at noon today to stay in saratoga was just wondering what the conditions were looking like for both places??
Thanks
Aug.

They look white.
As in lots of snow.
Not a lot of new snow and it will be go anywhere snow, but lots of it.

Rode the Madres yesterday.. and it sucks.. honestly the snow is like riding in late May! They are suppose to get some snow in the next few days. So if the temps get back down in the teens for the highs and snows 2-3 ft it will back to great!

PS. If you see my sled up there will you tow it out for me??? I spun my Avid drivers and it doesn't move to well.

Anyone wanna ride there this weekend? I can't find anyone to ride with at Rabbit Ears and there's no snow to the west or north of me ..

I wouldn't mind coming up to the snowies to ride :)

Last weekend was amazing. Looking at the mountain all week it looks like it tried to put some on the ground. But by looking at the snotel site seems like they lost about 6 inches midweek but gained it back the last day or so.
Still over 100" up top but you may need to get into the trees for soft snow.

I think the soft and fluffy is over.
If you can find mushy and not concrete, be happy.

Riding concrete is still better than not riding.

...A HIGH IMPACT...COLD WET WEATHER SYSTEM IS SLATED FOR THE
UPCOMING WEEK FOR CENTRAL AND WESTERN WYOMING...

A POTENT SPRING STORM SYSTEM NOW APPROACHING THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR A LARGE SCALE...HIGH IMPACT SNOWSTORM TO
MUCH OF CENTRAL AND WESTERN WYOMING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD DURING THE
UPCOMING WEEK.

THE PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THIS APPROACHING WEATHER SYSTEM
WILL FIRST AFFECT WESTERN WYOMING WITH LIGHT VALLEY RAIN SHOWERS
AND LIGHT MOUNTAIN SNOW SHOWERS TODAY. THE PRECIPITATION WILL
INTENSIFY AND BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD TONIGHT AND THEN SPREAD EAST
OF THE DIVIDE TUESDAY EVENING. THE RAIN OR RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW IN THE
WESTERN VALLEYS AND BASINS WILL TURN TO ALL SNOW BY TUESDAY
EVENING. MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION EAST OF THE DIVIDE WILL CHANGE
OVER TO SNOW AT ALL ELEVATIONS BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS STORM SYSTEM IS STILL UNCERTAIN AT THIS
TIME ALTHOUGH IT APPEARS THE MOST LIKELY STORM TRACK WILL TAKE IT
ACROSS CENTRAL UTAH AND CENTRAL COLORADO WHERE IT MAY STALL OVER
MOVE VERY SLOWLY THROUGH FRIDAY. THE POTENTIAL FOR COPIOUS
AMOUNTS OF SNOW EXIST ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE WIND RIVER
MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS ON CASPER MOUNTAIN WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH AT
LEAST FRIDAY. THE LOWER ELEVATIONS FROM THE LANDER FOOTHILLS TO
THE GREEN MOUNTAINS TO CASPER COULD ALSO SEE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL
DURING THE MIDDLE AND LATTER PORTION OF THE WEEK. 1 TO 2 FEET OF
SNOWFALL AT THE ABOVE MENTIONED LOWER ELEVATIONS WITH 3 TO 4 FEET
OF SNOWFALL IN THE MOUNTAINS IS POSSIBLE. AS THE STORM DRAWS
CLOSER TO THE AREA...ANTICIPATED SNOW AMOUNTS WILL BECOME MORE
APPARENT.

PEOPLE SHOULD KEEP INFORMED OF THE LATEST FORECAST UPDATES ON NOAA
WEATHER RADIO...THROUGH LOCAL MEDIA...OR ON THE INTERNET AT
WWW.WEATHER.GOV/RIVERTON

I said soft and fluffy.
We usually get a wet and mushy in april.
Usually around 2-3 feet of of wet and mushy. Sort of like riding in really deep mashed tators.

I was up there today rescueing my sled from last week. The snow wasn't to bad, still had about 6 inches of fresh. and the storm clouds were settling in and it started snowing.. So by Sunday when I get the sled fixed I will be back down... Hell the chutes are just getting filled in:D
