Snowies lodging

Hey guys. I am planning a trip to the snowies in January and was wondering if you can help me with something. Other than Albany lodge, where else can someone ride right from you are staying? Is there something on the west side to stay at?

Thanks.

You can stay at Ten Mile Inn. Its on the other side of the mtn. You can ride right from the door. They have nice new rooms. I stayed there last March. The only down side it its 2 hours further in the truck.

I have stayed at The Old Corral a few times. Winter & summer. Its always a great place to stay. Trailering up to Green Rock isn't bad as long as you get up early. The Bear Tree is the place to be after the ride.

Snowy Mountain Lodge just reopened. Its on the Centennial side above Greenrock. The cabins are nice and you ride from your doorstep.

x2 - we've stayed at the Old Corral and Winter Creek. Last year, you could ride to the top if you wanted with the snow conditions. We still trailer up - why waste gas to get there & back? Bear Tree has great food.

On the West side of the mountain, I have stayed at Medicine Bow Lodge. Good food, gas (most of the time) and friendly service. They have several cabins and a nice lodge. No alcohol served, but the Place and other spots pretty close serve. It is a per person rate that includes all food.

Just another option...

Wheres the best place to stay on the east side?

Depends on what you want -

Ride from your door?
Bar/Restaurant?
Cook your own food in a kitchen?
Gas pumps for sleds?

Everyone has their own preferences -

If Centennial is all booked up, we stay in Laramie at Super 8. Triple AAA discount is $60 bucks a night with two queen beds. 45 min drive up and down mountain but you have lots of options for restaurants and night life. Works slick.

I guess ride from your door would be nice, and fairly cheap. A few of us college kids going so doesn't need to be extravagant, just don't want to stay somewhere ****ty. Gas pumps too.

If you want ride from your door and have gas pumps - I think that narrows it down to Albany Lodge, Medicine Bow Lodge, Rendezvous Lodge, and I think The Place too.

Albany is on the east side closest to Laramie, the others are on the Saratoga side.

We usually ride out of Albany since that is where our cabin is, I like the Albany Lodge (food, gas, restaurant, bar, and small conveinience store. But it is a long ride to get to the steep climbs if that is what you are looking for. The other places are closer to the big climbing areas.

I'm sure others will chime in with their preferences and suggestions.
