snowflap

I notice most of the snow was coming out just under snowflap, when running down trail. Is there a longer (by 2 ") flap for the pro? It would throw more snow up in tunnel area to help keep it cooler. or am I missing something? thanks

If your riding trails I believe the scratchers are going to do far more than any snow flap. How about a snow flap from a 2009 RMK?:light:

X3 on Proven Designs!

Great product and really easy to deal with on custom designs. Before I finalized, they sent me a couple proofs and they made sure it was exactly what I wanted before they printed it up.

Thanks guys!

We also have our "Pro RMK-Long" snowflap that is a completely different design and is much wider and longer. We noticed better cooling with our standard snowflap vs. stock becuase of the material we use and the non-ported design. We sent out about 10 flaps before we introduced them a couple years ago to test them in real world conditions.

Basically if your looking to stop overheating issues and not mess around, go with the Pro RMK-Long snowflap as you can trim it to any length youd like and put ice scratchers on. This is what i hear from the majority of our customers who have cooling issues and found this combination to be a pretty sure fire fix.

Feel free to PM me with any questions regarding our snowflaps or give us a call @ 248-264-6089.

Thanks!!

We do a lot of custom logod snowflaps, im sure it was a custom flap that you saw. If your looking for a custom design please send an email with what youd like on the flap to snow@provendesignproducts.com and we can get a proof sent over for you to take a look at.

Thanks!

Not trying to dig on you, but how would a longer flap throw more snow in the tunnel? Wouldn't it just block it from going out the back? When I have ridden behind my PRO the snow just falls to the ground with every bump. I agree with PRO-8250. That is what I do with mine, and just dip it in the snow off trail every so often.

I think a longer flap would make more snow beeing thrown back to the track, and then spun up to the heat exchangers.

Driving of trail isnt going to work here i Norway. Here the snow is just as hard of the trails, than in them for a couple off weeks a year.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm thinking Assault next year and wishing it had the bulkhead cooler.

BINGO! The more flap area for the snow to hit = more snow being thrown back to the track in turn going back into the tunnel cooling the coolers.

He's right, exactly what happens. I ran a Proven Designs pro rmk long last year on my 11 pro, and it definitely lowered temps/keep temps down longer on hard pack, with scratchers down, no doubt. It just plain worked in low snow better than stock. The difference was noticeable, and I watch the temp gauge on the trails. Downsides - the long can hang up in reverse - I run a strap on mine, with a cinch, and I can set the height where I want, and reverse is seldom a problem. Of course they drag in the deep. But I have to run hardpack to get to the deep.

I also run with non-pros, they have the bulkhead cooler - their temps are never an issue like the pros. Difference is amazing with the front cooler, FWIW.

Your right on the money. Instead of snow being flung out the back, it hits the longer flap, hence holding more snow closer to the track and as the track is spinning it is grabbing snow like a conveyor belt.
