I am surprise you did not get your money back from Paypal.
One claim refund request is "significantly not as described".
I have been selling on Ebay since 1999 and have never won a dispute filed against me. Even after I proved item was shipped and was a new item.
Anyway, I won (a complaint) similar to yours for an electronic item. As soon as I had proof item was returned ... Paypal returned my money.
I would look at the appeal process and show emails he said work was completed and show pics proving it was not ... bearing kit ... to Paypal and see if that works to qualify for a refund.

This little ryan yarrow prick tried to screw me out of a set of pipes a few years ago. He got the money order and for weeks nothing, no returned emails, phone calls un answered etc etc. Not until i did some research and found out his parents address and phone number on the lovely internet and left them a nice little message did i hear from him. All of the sudden within 15 min of talking with his father i get a call from ryan himself saying i must leave them out of it, at this time he was living with his parents so fair game in my eyes to call the house. Anyway, he promised me this and that, stuff was shipped blah blah blah, and never to invade his privacy again, well i did until i got my stuff and it still wasnt what i was promised and was only two months later than he said. RYAN YARROW is a tool, learned my lesson and im sorry you got hit by this little tool as well. I wish new york was closer so i could make sure this wouldnt happen to anyone again

This is a really chitty deal. Sorry you got screw Scott. From the little that I know about motors it looks like a mess. I hope you get this resolved to your liking. Small claims court an option?

Please pass on any info by PM to Scott so he too can discuss the honesty of Ryan with his father.
Just a gentle nudge to get him to act before he turns his lawyer loose on the Yarrow family for internet fraud.
This kind of thing does get investigated these days since the internet is such a heavy hitter in the commerce world now.
I hit the little rat bastage with max red too and a note stating he will soon be visited by some sledding enthusiasts!

Sorry to hear about this kind of stuff Scott. There are people like myself who buy and sell alot of stuff on the swapmeet and it just makes it harder on us. It would be nice if there were a a rep system just for selling similar to Ebay.
If you paid with a credit card through paypal you can contact their fraud department, and they should be able to do something. I pay all my paypal transactions with AMEX and they have helped me in a couple dispute situations. Give it a try.

So bigdarrin will kick you off for posting a pic of girls in bikinis but won't ban a guy for blatantly ripping off a reputable member and asset to SnoWest even when all the evidence has been laid out in front of him. It's too bad SnoWest isn't the tight-knit group that it used to be. Seems like this keeps happening more and more and makes it tougher and tougher for members like myself to sell anything anymore.

Scott sadly this is why I rarley buy anything from this forum unless the user is somone like you that I recognize. I sell stuff here as well and dbags like hime ruin it for all of us reputable sellers. Something needs to be done to stop this tyoe of blatant fraud ! There are always going to be unhappy people but this is way beyond that!

wow...what a shocker...i can smell the intent to screw someone with that guy...he can;t use stupidity as a defense...and the part that sucks most is that he gets a fella like Scott who from reading what i know is the last person that would lead anyone astray..it really sucks....the resolution was easy as Scott offered...return my money and the seller gets the issue resolved with the shop to the represented state and then motor gets repurchased...i am saddened paypal would not support this route...hang in there Scott...may one misfortune be repaid to you with several positive ventures in the future..

I forgot his name but all i did was look up the phone book via the internet for the town i sent the money order to and looked under yarrow, called a few numbers asking for ryan and stumbled upon his parents. There was only a few yarrows in the listings so it made it easy. Sounds dumb but i do what it takes to get the job done, i was pi$$ed so i did what i had to do to get what i had paid for.
And yes this happened three years ago. I cant believe this kid is still getting away with this, ticks me off knowing he hasnt learned his lesson yet. SOme peoples kids......
