I think snowest has handled this matter very poorly. I feel and am sure Manny others feel like snowest has turned there backs on the snowmobiling community.

I think it could have been lay ed out better. I'm a moderator on snowandmud.com. so i have an inside viewed of the way thing are (can be) done. I think instead of limiting the amount of post a FREE BASIC member can read (reply to) why not just take other things away.



A free basic user is just that.free can read(reply) unrestricted threw out the forum however dose not have any of the following.



1) no aviator

2) no signature

3) no Pm's

4) no post count

5) no rep

6) no contacts & friends list

7) no customize profile

8) no private forums



All of these and more can be turned on or off in the admin cp by simply creating a new user group

This may not be the greatest solution to the problem. but i think it is better then the way snowest has gone about it

Then by all means, I think you should implement that process on your site and see how it works for you and your members.

SnoWest made their decision on this last November and I don't think they are going to make any major changes to that plan any time soon.
