Snowcross races at Fishlake?

What ever happened to this? It was always fun after a good day sledding to head to the races for the night to see friends and BS, with maybe a few :wine: and :present: for the night cap at the motorhome or cabin! Those were great times and wouldn't mine seeing them back. Wonder what it would take to bring it back? And yes I know $$$$$'s are some of the answers but are they racing anywhere in WA? :face-icon-small-con

the ISR group that ran the races folded; WSSRA (the only ISR group left in the NW that I am aware of) only does the drag race in Yellowstone now... main thing was insurance costs and what I heard was dealing with the Forest Circus...

There is also a lack of racers (snocross, grass drag, x-country etc.)

the big problem I hear now is the lack of snocross racers in the NW due to the expense of racing... it is very spendy....

What if we run what you want, did by age and signed a release form that you did not hold the track liable for anything! I would just like to see this happen again, and wonder if really the insuance thing is really that much. Just make a basic track that most could have fun on with tight tech sections that would show more skill than how long can I hold the flipper to the bar JMO

Someone should contact the grass drag organizers down in Enumclaw and see how they do it. Even some grass/snow drags at the air strip in Leavenworth would be a good time for all and good for the community. Not as fun as a snowcross but you take what you can get now days.

Airstrip in Leavenworth? Fromm field? That's just a dude's field we land helicopters in. Seems like doing it up at the Fish Lake airstrip would make more sense, the winter rec club being there and all...

Sorry, just giving you a hard time. Gotta keep you westsiders goin' straight... :)

Isn't Fromm Field the Icicle Creek guide hole for spring Chinook?

it would be interesting to see what it would take to put something on, even if it is feasible or not.

always thought a cross country race would be cool on like a 5 -10 mile loop with varying terrain, maybe a technical section (climb/jump) for start/finish/spectator area... sugarloaf-miners ridge like. Add a little something to the spring time type riding. a few years ago we had a little off-trail route around there that was quick paced and hit most of the terrain features. Not good when foggy though.

I have to say your right on money PM the area does and would give some great challanges for all riders in a CC race! Not so much on speed but tech! Almost like a trails type coarse that show skill
