Snowcheck 155" or 163"?

I haven't really rode since 2004 when I had a Summit 700 151". Now I'm snowchecking a new Pro RMK, I can't decide which track length to get.

I feel like I should get the 155" because I'm more into trees/boondocking/jumping than point and shoot hillclimbing. However, I hear these sleds are super easy to turn over and put on their sides so I'm thinking I should get the 163".

I'm a lighter rider at 150lbs. For those of you that have rode both, do you have an opinion?

LOL, I just started a thread about how to shorten my 163. Honestly, if there is any way you can get out and ride both, I would. I love the stability and float of my 163, but I am right at 145 lbs. and am not able to lay the 163 on its side as easily as the 155. My buddies that are a little heavier have no problems.
At your weight, I think you will notice a difference in the 2. I think its worth riding both to see what you think.

Yea, just read your thread...some good advice in there. But you're right, I need to just ride both (except going from an old summit to these both are gonna seem amazing :P).

go big or go home! where is the pro 174!.....and pol get rid of the stupid one eyed extrovert and holes in the center of the track. holes don't float!

Pro 174", whimps!!!!!

All about the Pro 189" now!!

I am happy with my 155" and I know my dad is happy on my 155" too since he rides a 163 PRO and is snow checking a 2010 155" PRO, AND keeping his 163".
In anything but the deepest, the 155" does everything the 163 does, but better IMO.

Now one thing I will say is gearing makes a big difference, gearing these sleds down makes hem a whole new animal! My dad regeared his 163 and it pulls hard, I am ordering gears for mine asap now :face-icon-small-coo

Well if you look at the two sleds the 163 is about 4 inches longer then the 155. Not that much difference really. But it does make a noticeable difference in the deep. Boondocking doesnt change much. Iv had a 162 for six years now and I wouldn't go any less.

Do you know what gearing your 2011 155" came with?

I have a 155 Pro and rode with a 163 Pro today in deep powder and there is no way I could keep up. If you ride powder and deep every day get the 163. Most days and today I got there on my 155. Just have to make a highway and up the hill we go.

Good to know trackman! I was in the 155/163 debate... I went 163 as we have many chestdeep days... Glad to know it's much better in deep pow!!
