Funny how a new breede of snow sport can completely throw things around.
Have ridden sleds for 20+ years.
Last sled was a boosted MCX270 Nytro. A fun, powerful and reliable sled.
Put most of all aftermarket produtcts on it. It was a killer;-)
People thought I lost my mind when I prefered to ride a snowbike with less than 1/4 th of hp of my sled. Too heavy, just go for a PRO RMK800 they said.

Got into snowbiking 2 years ago and it has completely killed my interest in sleds.
Think that there are alot of snowbikers out there that share similar stories.
But should we get rid of our sleds? Does a snowbike all the things that we need?
For long travels, sleds is the prefered snow wehicle. When you travel with your family you can bring lot of people and things to your destination.
How many snowbikers are prior sledders in comparison to genuine dirt bike riders?
Poll maybe?

lean'n to turn

since I built my sno bike the M8 has been gathering dust mostly in my trailer which has not been out of the yard now in three years. I still need the sled to go into my cabin with supplies . My grandson's rode the m8 when we went to a play area at xmas and we all took turns riding my sno bike.

An upside for me to getting silly over sno bikes, It has renewed my interest in bike riding, I just hadn'd been hitting the trails on my bike in the evenings like the past 50 years. Now I hop on a bike...........its warm, its stable, I can see, I don't have on 40lbs of KLIM, I ride feet up in slides and glides thinking that's normal, a quart of gas lasts for hours, got inspired enough to buy KTM200 in middle of winter and going to park my porkyYZ250f.
All good until the next getoff.

The only thing I miss about sledding is when you find a big open meadow with untouched powder and power turning all around full throttle. We found one yesterday and the bike just wasn't cutting it so I jumped on my dad's Pro and got my fix. After tracking all the fresh I jumped back on my bike and headed for the trees lol.

While I didn't have a boosted M1000, everyone thought I was crazy to sell the thing I loved so much. It was hard to see it go the day it drove off in the back of someone else's truck, but I have not regretted it for one second. I let my buddy ride around on my bike for about a half hour and I jumped on his M1000... after about 5 minutes I just sat on it and waited to get my bike back. The fun factor is just too high on the Horse.

I think if you are a hardcore dirt bike rider then you will almost certainly fall in love with it. If you have been sledding for many years and not a hardcore dirt bike rider then its a tossup whether you will love it. My experience was the latter. My biggest complaint was how miserable the mountain horse was to ride on the trail. Just my experience....i am glad i did not sell my sled

I hate my Pro RMK now that I have my UFO on my KX450. I actually prefer it on the trail must of the time to the sled. I hate feeding line I am on a tippy quad. The bike just rails turns as long as the turn isn't icy. As soon as I have 100-125hp I will dump my sled.
