Snowbike racing Minnesota

Since I live in MN and don't get out to the mountains enough I needed to find a way to use my snowbike this year. I used to race sleds and ERX Motorpark in Elk River and reached out to them. They said they have talked about allowing snowbikes to race there on Thursday nights but haven't had anyone ask. They told me if I can come up with snowbike racers and guarantee atleast 4 racers per night she would start a class for them. So anyone interested please get in contact with me!!! Its cheap, to race there to btw (as far as racing goes anyway).

I rode there years ago with my snowhawk and found the layout not very bike friendly. I'm also too old and fat. Hopefully you find some guy's to ride. Would be cool to watch. Maybe I'll get back in shape and get the bike there.

No time like the present to get into it. I imagine using a moto bike with a timbersled, mototrax, etc would be a lot better on it than a snowhawk.

Look up corpowersports. I raced in their MESC circuit last season with my snowbike. Was a blast! They have multiple disciplines too. I raced hill-X, hill climb, and XC at big powderhorn ski hill in Michigan and Lutsen mountains on the north shore. They have also added an XC race this coming season at Baraga Michigan.

Cool, appreciate that info. Sounds like a blast and both 4.5hrs away. Still hoping to get some sno x racing going in MN so I don't have to wait until april for an event, at that point I can ride motocross anyway.

Race dates for this season would be

12/15
12/29
1/12
1/26
2/9
2/23
3/9

all on thursdays, mandatory race meeting at 4:30pm each race

There will most likely be a race in Detroit Lakes again this year too. That is part of the national snowbike race series.

You could also just plan out a day for a practice session. It doesn't have to be a Thursday. We had about 4 hawks and 2 bike kits when we went. I know I wouldn't be able to make it to Thursday racing. Can't get home from work that soon.

ISOC just announced that they are adding a snowbike class to their ams oil nationals races. Duluth race is thanksgiving weekend and is always a great show!

How about scheduling a practice day in early december for starters? I got a group of 3 from ND who would make the trip for a sat. and/or sunday ride since not looking like snow anytime soon here.

Ya I was going to race duluth until I realised it's about $180 with 1 day memberships, race fees, the insurance they make you purchase, plus hotel and fuel I'll have $3-400 into it and may not even make it into the finals. That's the same price I pay to for lodging, fuel, food and 3 days of riding in the snowies so I'll pass. Might try and hit up erx, but haven't heard anymore on that.

Seriously $180? We were thinking about racing as well but not anymore if thats the case... Then again, we are still waiting on our kits anyway... Don't think they are gonna have much success with the classs if it costs that much just to get started.

Nice, Wow is this sport growing! Finally got to ride my snowbike for the first time up in Brainerd. Man this thing is so awesome and basically 0 learning curve!
