Snowbike gear question

Like I said in my other posts I am new to snowbikes and was wondering if you guys could let me know the gear requirements for snowbikes. Any special snow pant or boots or anything like that required. Do u guys use chest protectors in winter? I do in summer but have never used them on my sleds. How about anything else.

good ankle protection, moto knee pads at the min. for me.You can still take bars to the chest if you hit something.
I would wear any piece of safety equipment that makes you comfortable in the event of a get-off.Snow is certainly softer though than hard pack dirt.

Do some searching here on the bike forum, there's a few threads related to pants and boots specifically.

Sounds like the bike seats are hard on regular snowmow pants/bibs and will get the butts to where they get wet after awhile, and got to worry about pipe burn. Klim makes snowbike pants, Havoc I think.

Boots, guys like their Klim GTX or Motofist stompers, unless they're one that's whacked a stump, and obviously pegs and kickstart are hard on them.

Love my MF Stomper boots. If you have a kick start bike and wider pegs you might have issues. I had to yank one of the traction screws out of my pegs where it hit the inside of my boot when kick starting as it poked a little hole in it.

I like the MF rebel bib with the burn proof leg panel and reinforced butt section but I hate bibs as I get too hot. I rock their Trophy pant and have had really good luck, your butt will get a little wet after a full day of rocking especially more towards spring riding but they have taken a serious beating dragging on trees.

Knee braces/padding is not a bad idea. I dont like them and just try to be concious of how im dragging my legs in the snow as you are fairly vulnerable.
