Snow stuffing the exhaust

Anyone overcome this problem? I tried riveting on a piece of mudflap to the snow deflector to increase its length but that didn't help. Anyone doing a tunnel dump or other redesign? Wondering if tightening the shock springs would increase ride height? Looking for any input how to stop my 16 AXYS from choking every time in deep powder?? Maybe my motor is just getting tired and can't blow the snow away? It has a SLP pipe and can on it. Are these ayn worse than others for plugging??

I have a MTNTK turbo on my 16, I don’t have any exhaust issues at all in deep snow. I have been in lots of over the hood.
Are sure its not choking from no air and plugged intake. I have extra intake vents on mine.

Rode all day yesterday in over the hood snow. 4 Axys machines and no bogs from intake or exhaust being plugged. Slp pipe and can on mine. SSI cans on two of them and mbrp trail can on the other.
Is your intake under the hood sealed well? Maybe sucking water in?

You are sucking exhaust into the motor.

Check for tight exh springs (bend loops to tighten)

Seal exh outlet to belly pan.

Make sure the intake has no gaps.

( i run an slp setup)

I just sealed up the exhaust on my IQ yesterday.

I pulled the can and cleaned the end real good, popped the grommet out and scrubbed it real well and then reinstalled the grommet. I applied a heavy coat of wax on the can outlet and then installed. Once in place I used RTV and sealed the two up. I'm hoping the wax will act as a release agent when I get ready to pull the can again.

if it is your exhaust their has ben a handful of cat guys that cut the downspout at a 45 and I cut one on an old sled in the center up to the tub and strait out the back to. have you tried just a bigger deflector made of aluminum?

Haven’t had that on a stock axys? Was riding reeeedicously deep snow this week and actually no bogs from exhaust clogging. Maybe the SLP is more prone, or leaving a bigger gap to inhale exhaust as mentioned.

My 16 163x3 Axys was choking on powder most times. The pow was pretty deep and fluffy in Revy around New Years. It would happen consistently when I would be going slow and lean it on its right side.

Found 3 things:

1. The connector to the voltage regulator is melted so there could be a low power condition.

2. Did a compression test and cylinders are down to 105psi and 95psi at 4000 kms.

3. Pulled exhaust valves and brass filings came out with PTO side valve.
I can only think the brass could come from the water pump drive gear. If so an internal seal has failed.

It is at the dealer now for a warranty claim.

So far Polaris has treated me well with warranty issues, hope it continues.

Well, dealer said the brass was from the exhaust valve bushings, compression was 110 psi for both on their gauge and stator has been outputting too much and burned wiring and regulator.

All covered under warranty.

Not happy about the compression but somewhat expected for the amount of use.

At least I don't expect it to blow up on the next ride.
