Snow Show #2

I got there at about 9 on Sat. The parking lot was PACKED with people. I figured when they opened the doors it was going to be so crowded inside it would be hard to move around but that never happened. Not sure if some of the parking lot crowd ever goes inside. I love the snow show and went both days again this year. I like to put my hands on stuff, don't buy much off the internet unless it's the only option. Xxtreme had some great ideas, we need to get some of the younger, internet savvy people helping with planning and promoting the show. The Edmonton show being on the same weekend kept some of our usual vendors and Pros from coming. Boonedocker and Dan Adams for a couple. Edmonton is the biggest North American sled show. Deer season is also a conflict.

OK so, with a larger building one that could house it all what are we talking 20 /40 K sq. ft. more?
The one thing I didn't like about the inside swap meet area is how crowded it was. Now, it's been a few years since I've been but if you were able to have 10x15 or larger with a mix in size so sellers could spread their stuff out a little, would that be a better thing? Back to space size, An eight ft space just seems too narrow unless all you have is a couple tables of stuff there is no way to display all of what someone might have to sell, take a tunnel for example, what are they 4 ft on average? Now add wiring or cables, I know that if I'm looking for stuff like that I don't want to stand there and have to unpack or unwind wiring just to check it out. Now add an engine and pipes to the mix with one half of your space used up where will other stuff fit and then where will I sit?
Trust me not bashing here and I know, you can rent more space but then you have the guy who has enough stuff to fill an 8x what ever and just a little more what now, rent a second space and then sell off some stuff and have paid for an empty space? With the main show room I think it needs to be kept to sleds both factory and mod no quads or what ever and the mod business right there too and something needs to be done about the clothing, they seem to get stuck off in a corner with not much room to move around as well.. I just think the whole venue needs to flow better from what I've seen and heard, don't know all that is needed or what takes place or what is behind the scenes with the city but my guess is they have too many attorneys on the pay roll talking about liability, so it might be time for a new venue... Between all of the people who sled here ,
I bet logistics would not be too difficult I don't live there but I bet with a little street boondockin some body could find a building or two that would fit the bill and as far as location don't think that would matter too much to any one as far as finding a new place....... I will ad this as I stated in the other thread if the venue doesn't change there should be a way to rig up an enclosed trailer to be able to run sleds, again, not rocket science if that in itself would help then so be it..

I rarely go, but I wanted to get out of town and do something with the wife for the weekend. I have a new sled and I loaded it up with accessories when I bought it. For me, I did not need anything at the show, but I thought the $10 entrance fee was more than acceptable. I also donated $5 to park. I walked around, got to check out a bunch of good stuff, see friends, and meet new people. We both enjoyed the show. In the end, I did buy some new shocks for my sled. The funniest part - it was from my dealer that made the trek over. They made me a deal I couldn't refuse.

As far as running the sleds go, you should be able to take a sled dolly and roll your sled outside. There, people can hear it run an the exhaust won't fill up the building. Run them for a short amount of time and keep the noise level down. If you want to pack up and leave, do so after the event, when the crowds are gone.

Sounds like I should have brought my sled deck over to sell. I need to sell it so I can buy one of those sled beds I saw.
