SNOW on HWY 150

I was all over Wolf Creek Pass to Soapstone the last 2 days looking for Elk. There is not more than 6 inches anywhere up there. We need more snow for sure.

It's a start!

thanks for posting the report...we ride alot up there, and won't be able to get up 'til mid-December...good to know that there is a base going down! :face-icon-small-hap

Andris, I'll have 500 mile under my belt by the time you get here. LOL
Hope you're saving up for repairs. hahaha

BTW: Nice Avatar

Drove over the highway tonight on my way home and it is as dry as can be. I think they plowed it. There is only around 6" of snow even up high. Scary thing is it looks like a melt/freeze cycle is going on up there, which can have some serious early season avy consequences.

Could be just like last year with that nasty ice layer near the ground, avy danger greatly increases ALL season long. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!

Nothing will compare to last years Ice Rain just before Thanksgiving. In the 10 year we've had our cabin, we've never seen anything like that.

Hope this storm drops enough to at least ride the road.

Had about 6" new today. Sure there is a lot more up high. We're across from Bear River Lodge (8000 ft. elev.) and my son and I rode around our association all day today.:face-icon-small-hap

Snow report on 150

Cool! Hopefully it keeps coming for the next 30 days or so...counting down to 12/11, and hoping it won't be a Moab trip! :)

The snow just won't stop. Starting to wonder if I'll be getting the truck out tomorrow.

Please stop snow dancing....................;)

Road Ride???????:p

Except UDOT keeps plowing the road! Seriously WTF!

At least the North Slope road out to the east will be ride-able.

Ron, if you need help getting out, just let me know. But I think you will be alright.:beer;

I Live in park city and am looking to break in a motor, where is this road you speak of? will there be enough snow to work in this new motor tomorrow?

The north slope road is 50 miles north east of Kamas. You can take the mirror lake highway from kamas over to the Bear River Lodge and the road starts right there. I saw a plow go over the highway earlier today, but it has snowed 6" since then. I am not sure (but think they will) if they will plow it again tomorrow. You can also drive through Evanston, Wyoming and then head south on highway 150 to the same spot. Through most the winter that is the route. It is about an hour and 15 minutes from PC.

cool. Seems like the gate is not closed yet, so I'm thinking about driving up to just above trial lake tomorrow, I know there is a field just above trial lake below the summit, with a couple dirt roads on it. Snotel says 16in right now at trial, so maybe close to 2 feet at said field by tomorrow. thats all I need for a test and tune...

let me know any more info you have!

thanks a ton!

No kidding, stop plowing already. Save some UT tax money.

Just stopped snowing here. My tires are like slicks. I have 4 new Mickey's on the shelf waiting to be mounted but have been procrastinating. Guess it's time now.

May do an Elizabeth ride tomorrow. Need to brake in the new top end.
