Snow in IP

Are the snow conditions as bad as it sounds in IP? Looks like weather in the 40's next couple of days, no snow in forecast.
Anyone been there this week?

We were there on the week-end. It was decent up high. But getting there will pound you pretty bad. We went to Jefferson and the snow was very set up and spring like riding. We had a couple 600 Switchbacks with 136" track and they could go anywhere we could. Also we went to Lions Head and it was tracked up like a highway running through it. And it won't be long until the trail from Lions Head to Island Park will be bare in spots.

Unloaded at warm river and rode Fish Creek last Sat. Spring riding conditions. Was raining up to about 8000 ft. Was so warm the snow was slushy and sticky. Staying home this weekend, gonna try Togwotee next weekend. Very strange winter, if winter is what this has been.

Go as high as you can. If your trip is about hanging out, drinking and having a good time and doing some riding than go high and stay in the trees. If you really crave the better snow than get out of the rooms there if possible and head for Togwotee. 4-5 hour drive from island park. Go over the top and get rooms in Dubois wyo. Some cheap motels there. Will have to trailer up, but the snow will much better.

We are going to tog next weekend, the Snowy Range a couple of weeks after that, then without a bunch of snow calling it a season. Very sad around here.

Ran up to black canyon today, had to work through the tracked up stuff , snow depth about same but looser, 8600ft. Herd rumor they might close west die to blacktop showing up in trail. Definitely a sad year, never seen in this bad in the ten years coming out.

Yep, bad for sure. I think this is it for the season for us. Going to go to IP for lunch today from Warm River where my place is. Then summarize the sleds and back to California.

Yesterday 2-15 we rode up Fish Creek about 20 miles and the conditions never got better.

Hopefully next week will bring some snow.
