How much did you all get in MT, ID and UT? We got nothing here, at least in NOCO anyways. Yesterday was partly cloudy and warm (17 degrees) and very windy. Today is clear and mega cold.

I don't know where the big storm petered out but it did it before it got here. We are in really bad shape up this way. And that is the God's Honest Truth.
3-4" on top of a 2" whoar layer is not an improvement.

North Western Mt. got 2-4ft in places. Other northern parts got zip.hope it gets better for all of us. Headed to Fish Creek today.

Yeah, we got hammered in Montana in most parts of the west and west central. Not sure about the flats to the east.

I'm keeping an eye on this thing that's over AK right now. LOL The jet stream pattern looks promising if that blue patch doesn't dissipate before it gets here.

Ya they are giving us a severe weather advisory in Alaska. Saying heavy snowfall in the mtns, but lots of rain down low from a tropical storm. They said it will be like the storm we had after Christmas which brought a ton of snow, but lots of rain down low making some of the riding areas inaccessible due to no snow! Crazy winter so far for sure, unseasonably warm weather. I just hope it doesn't rain at altitude, that will destroy our snow quickly.

On the other coast we got a decent hit yesterday (18"+) but changed to light rain / drizzle overnight and now everything is like wet cement!

Had first run for the year today and the snow was deep enough but heavy!

hope everyone gets more!

Scott, I hope that the jet stream changes some. The last one veered back to the Northeast as soon as it hit the UT/CO border. Left them with 56" and us with 3". Missed the good parts of WYoming also. The Snowies got robbed also.

The epic storm was an epic flop in most of montana. NW MT got a bunch but the rest got about 8 inches. Most of that was before the big storm was supposed to hit. A little is better than nothing but a few areas we ride are one good storm off.

I live in AK where the big blue and green blog is tracking. It is pretty much all rain. Warmer temperatures in the higher elevations and cooler down low, rain turning into freezing rain. 37 degrees at 1000', 29 degrees at 200'. We have over 4' less snow cover than last year at this same time, I see tall grass showing all over.

Hopefully for those of you in the future path of this Low pressure it turns to snow.

God forbid you actually have to drive to get to the snow, we do it every ride. BTW, it was awesome today and gonna be better tomorrow.

I live 15 minutes away from one of the most historically great places to ride with equally historic snowfall. I live in the mountains, you live in the City. It makes sense that you have to drive. Not saying I won't drive to the snow, it just sucks that I have to, living where I do. Plans are in the works. It just blows that the snow missed completely. That's the point.

More info please? Where at?

He rides Wolf Creek Pass most weekends and lives in Colorado Springs. I happen to live 15 minutes away from RE/Buff Pass. According to Snotel, WC has just a few more inches of snow total base than Buff, but they did get about 10" more there than RE/Buff did.

RE/Buff, according to records gets an average of 300-450" total snowfall a year, WC gets 400-500" if I am not mistaken. 2010 was a record setting year for RE/Buff with over 500" and about a third of that fell in the Spring, after March. Last year I don't think RE/Buff broke 200", this season so far we got blasted in December with almost 8' of powder. But the last week of December, the clouds left and the sun came out but the temps dropped into the sub-zero temps. Friday was the first time it snowed and it only left 3" on the ground. Now the temps have dipped into the minus 20 range and no real forecasted snow is called for the next 10 days. There is a promising storm looming in Alaska, but the jetstream needs to shift 150 miles South to hit the Northern half of Colorado. But if it stays tracked like the last storm then it'll bounce off the UT/CO state line and head to the Northeast US, missing the Snowies but dropping some on Togwotee before whacking the UP.

Dave moved to the city?

You see Phatty's and Dan's pics?? Looks like it hit the mountains to me. All you could see was handlebars.

No, where they posted?
Some spots got hammered and others got none. Our amounts of snow are hit and miss. If you don't get it asap its used. Mid January we should not have to worry about rocks and stumps. JMO

All over FB.

I dunno. It's all in your own opinion I guess. Some say the snow is good, some say it's in need of a good, deep freshening. Personally, when I can feel my track skimming rocks and stumps I tend to lean towards "the snow is crappy" when I spend the afternoon replacing spindles and bushing on my a-arms because I hit a stump I tend to say it's crappy.

Two weeks ago I saw the marker at Buff and the snow was at 6', it is now right around 4'.

Go there if you want but just be careful. I was gonna go today but a lazy wife and sick kids ruined that idea.
