What are guys running for snow flaps? I have an 07 m8 162 with the BDX rear bumper mod. My stock flap is starting to crack!! And looking around some guys want between $40-$80 for a flap! Was thinking of black crazy carpet like stuff!! But not sure if they make them in black? somthing light and cheap incase you need to replace it! I never used the stock tail light so i need somthing flat!..

just take it off, you'll never want one again...

This is a rubber 18" long by 24" wide flap I cut down the 16" wide. I have an 8" piece of plastic mudflap supporting it so it stays out of the track. It cost me $0.

How is the cooling without the flap? I have a flat cooler not the curved one! And im sureguys behind you dont like it very much!

I have been on several rides this season without a flap on my 09. even in low snow conditions it doesn't seem to bother the sled. Also if you are running a powderclaw track, it doesn't matter if you have a flap or not, it still sprays like crazy.

Won't hurt anything to remove the flap. If there's not enough snow to cool the heat exch w/out a flap, then your hyfax will burn up first. Put the scratchers down and go. Need the scratchers more for hyfax than engine cooling.
No downside at all, but it get's the flap out of the way when you're trenched in and didding out.

Sure, not running a snowflap does not effect performance. However, you may upset your riding buddies. Plus in my opinion snow flapless sleds look unfinished. Same goes for sleds with no windshields.

I prefer the old 1M style. If you prefer a smaller one, go with a ZR/ZL style. You can find cheap used ones all over.

I have the flat cooler on my 09 aswell, I find the cooling works great, if anything I find more snow in the tunnel with no flap then with. I love not having to kick my snowflap out of the way when I get stuck and I love not having the flap get sucked into the tunnel when not backing up.

Lose the flap. Hang a set of blue "Biker Balls" on the back. Something to look at when the Ghost rides your sled to the tree line.

I have an OLD arctic cat one on my m7. Like 1980 era. it is only about 6 inches long. Never gets in the way but doesn't offer much protection for the guy behind you either. The other function of the snow flap is to redirect some of the snow to the back cooler. So having something on there is beneficial for those of us that don't get to ride good snow 100% of the time.

No flap is nice , but not to your riding buddies.:D I think I will put it back on...:beer;

Several times when I went out I left the flap on or off to get response from the other riders, the net consensus was there was no difference following where we go. I suppose if you were trail riding close together there may be a difference, we tend to be about 100' to 150' apart, the flap is a nuisance.

with a PC track the flap makes no difference, even the 09. the snow shoots out right below it. Only way to help on the trail is to have one that is almost dragging on the ground.
