Ya you can cut holes but in order to make it really work you have to have massive holes and then you just weaken an already wimpy aspect of your sled. Not to mention the real key benefit of traction.

Tim those GEN II Better Boards look great! WOW Super fast install...let us all know how you like the performance. Thanks for posting your work so quickly.

Deep powder riding and Happy Holidays everyone!

M - Better Boards

Rob

Doo you / Can you make small rear better board for the M sleds?
What I find out here with sleds that have a board mod's done on the M sleds
is that the customers need a smaller board further in the back behind the upper idler wheel... like in you pic of the king kat..

Huge sales if you can sell them separately:D

I know I could sell 2 pair right now

I will look into it. I bet we can do something to help the rear section of the M's. Those factory boards do suck!

Installed Better Boards on my 2008 RMK. They were better than stock, but I still have to kick the snow that builds up on the boards. Pretty much the same deal as the stock boards, just faster to kick the snow out. If the holes were larger / spaced farther apart it probably wouldn't be as bad.

I have the newly enlarged holes on my M1k and they probably don't work as well as these but the snow kicks out way faster and with very little build up. I'm thinking of putting a set on the M7.

I have the plastic fastlane's on my M8 and they are the best mod you can buy I think. Going to order some for my wifes m7

Rob

would you recommend putting the rivets on the inside of the rails close to the vertical part of the tunnel. I just put them on the outside by the cooler line and then up on the top of the better board.

Fwiw the betterboard are awesome. They look factory and raised my outer real by at least 2 inches and the boards are firm.

Thanks for a great product.

Just plastic on my boards?

I too am tired of kicking snow off the boards on my M. I am seriously thinking of doing the Fastlane units. I like the idea of plastic cause the snow won’t stick to it like it does to aluminum. However I ride with my wife and kid on the trails quite a bit and am worried about the amount of snow coming thru on me while trail riding. Rode with a guy who had powder coated boards and this worked pretty well cause the snow didn’t stick. Does anyone know of a product that just lays thin plastic on the board surface, I was wondering if this might be a middle of the road option?

Works Great

I've had the snow eliminators on a 2005 KIngkat and my M1000 (2007) They really work great. Most of the guys I ride with are using them too.

Here are a few pics of the better boards on my Gen2... Thanks Rob, really dig these.

No comparison between stock running boards and my no-snos. Great traction and no snow build-up. Highly recomend them.
