I saw Ron's pictures of the Uintas. Anyone have a report from this weekend on Monte, Fairview or Tony? I have 2 buddies in town on Wed/Thu and we are going to ride, want to go to the best possible spots even though we haven't had snow in a little while.

Stay away from fairview. I was up there yesterday. Snow is really low this year. Stay north if you want decent snow.

No seriously, im not just trying to keep people away from fairview. I am being honest. We are not going back down there until it snows a few times.

We started from Franklin basin headed towards tonys, but the snow was too thin trying to get there so we turned back toward boss and steep. snow was way good over there. we had a great ride. We were straped for time so we didn' take pics. I think franklin basin has the best snow so far. We pull some good climes and good lines through the trees. Boondocking in the trees was a blast.

Both places are great but i think the snow is more stable up Franklig for climbing. I live 30 minutes from Monti and I would rather drive the extra hour each way to ride any of this two places. Looks like you guys had a good day up there Ron. I'll check my pm's, I must of missed the invite. JK!

Rode Monte Thursday. May have set up little more since then, but the snow was great all day in the tree's and canyons. We had someone lose a crank late in the day so we had to take the road back and anything on or near the road was beat down garbage. You just need to know where to go.

Rode Franklin Basin yesterday. Went all the way over Danish Pass, up Beaver Creek and into Egan Basin. The trails and valley floors are your basic packed down sled super-highways but we found really good snow in several of the fingers and trees.
East facing slopes still have some fluff, decent climbing and nothing slid.
You still need to be careful though, one of our group found a coverd stump and cracked up his front bumper and belly pan. We need more snow!
Make sure you have an Idaho tag. Utah and Idaho DWR were everywhere!

I aksed 1mex if the mafia wanted to ride with us.
His face went blank then I caught a glimps of a smile;)
You guys are welcome to come ride with us anytime.
As others have said, white pine was absolutely horrible so we didn't ride over to tonys I can't imagine it being very good over there from what we saw.
Lots of rocks and hard snow!
As small as the franklin lot is I will still say thats where the best snow is without a doubt!
Still found some good soft snow without tracks.

Rode all over this weekend.
Wyoming, Tonys, Millhollow, bountiful...

Millhollow has a rime crust and pretty much is good riding late afternoon on the south slopes when the crust softens, icy in the morning.

Bountiful was about the same as millhollow with less snow

Tonys was good. Soft snow, no crust, and found some sheltered slopes with decent snow...

Wyoming sucked bad  dont ride there... :p:D
