Snow at Stampede

Went up today with the Mrs. to do some Christmas tree shopping up on top of Stampede Pass and abouts...had about 6" of solid untracked snow on the road above 3,500 ft...was 30* and snowing most of the afternoon. Some places had probably as much as 9"...some less than 3". Snoqualmie pass was 34* and raining when we came back over around 14:30...here are a few pics I snapped on the ol' blackberry...

:D:beer;

thought that might illicit a few smiles...it was great to see it...fun to drive around in it. When you get up above stampede pass -- you could easily do a road ride...I suspect that if they get snow like they were, and are expected to in the next few days into next week...there will be better than a foot of snow or better up there...

it was nice to feel the snow falling on me while I had the Sthil revved up...

jetting

speaking of stampede pass, I am new to the whole snowmobiling thing and i just purchased a 04 polaris vertical edge rmk 800 and had a few jetting questions. The sled was originally set up for baker so I am told it is jetted for 4 to 7 thousand feet and I will be doing the majority of my riding up at stampede and easton I was wondering what jets and where my needle clips need to be. The sled has a single psi pipe and silencer with the Y pipe its also a 159 track. I know that it has the D.E.T but im wondering if i still need to change my jetting and possibly clutching. Any help would be very greatful

You'll be just fine in my opinion. Don't change a thing (provided it's running right in the first place) Stampede pass is just shy of 4,000 feet.

6in could be 12 or 15 by the weekend up higher..
a wee bit of time in the dismal snow is better than posting away on this forum and re-posting the same gay pictures all the time.

if you do get out there, remember

"never eat yellow snow"
