Not sure if anyone out there is encountering the same problem as me with the Skinz Float plate, but here in the PacNW snow is rarely light and routinely deep. I was ripping the front brackets of my plate about every other ride at least. Each time trying a new method, when I decided to try out U-Bolts with a square bracket and locking bolt washers on the back.
I put the U-Bolts on with a little play and some loctite and it's turned out pretty good so far (about 5 days on fix). Last day out was decently heavy and I managed to nose dive several drops without dire consequences. Snow build up still is pretty heavy but at least it doesn't rip my plate off now. Plus, this plate does what it's designed to do well, FLOAT! Man I love downhill pow now, used to just be uphill..
