Snoring.....

The "Breathe Right" strips are the only thing we've tried that help a lot... most of the time. ;)

you have sleep apnea most likley. go in for sleep study.
if it's causing him to lose sleep, yes. if it's bothering others and he sleeps good, not so much.

about the snoring, I had a deviated septum and went in to have it fixed and they asked if I snored, they could help by removing the uvula since they were gonna be in there anyways. it's the little hanging skin deal in the back of your mouth, I said go for it. I wish I hadn't, I still snore but at a different pitch (says the wife), and there's about 10 other things that pizz me off about it. don't get that done....

I just had my first sleep study done, I had to spend a night with an blood 02 meter on my index finger...it was easy and painless as they send the meter (about the size of an avy beacon) thru the mail and download it once you send it back

It'll tell me if my blood 02 levels drop too low at night, scary stuff happens when you have sleep apnea go undiagnosed for years.

.

i had a sleep study done and had to sleep with about a million wires connected to me.. on my head, my face, my chest, my arms and legs.. and a sensor strapped under my nose to monitor the air going in my nose.. i felt like i was trying to sleep in the giant mess of wires that most people have behind there tv and entertainment center..

More people have sleep apnea than most realize. I think I have it.

Dad never thought he did. He always went to bed at 10:30 and up at 5:30. Snored absolutely terrible. Last winter we made fun of him enough and enough of his buddies got the CPAP machines he went in and got the test. He was waking up 20 times an hour and his O2 levels were down to like 40%. 2 hours into the night they woke him up and told him he could go home, he was a candidate for a CPAP.

He whined and cussed about that machine and got a different facemask. Now 6 months later he won't sleep without it and he said he feels a lot better. A LOT less snoring going on in that house.

I saw something on the news about a surgeon in germany who was putting these plastic staples or dart's into people's upper pallet
Look's like a good idea and is reversible, anyone hear about that one?

My wife has been wanting me to go in for this testing garbage, but what can they really do. I'm not bringing a fu--ing breathing machine into to my bedroom at night. Thats pretty sexy right! Wife would really jump my bones then.

that'll be step two, if my 02 meter test fails.

My wife snores. 2 options kick her but in defence, after waking her up and the following arguement or sleep on the couch.... I watch a lot of late night TV
