SnoBunje

I am not too familiar with the configuration of the SnoBunje. I have been pulled out by the one with two hooks ( sled to sled) before. The guy that pulled me out had both types in his pack. I am definitely going to be buying one after seeing how easy they work.

I would rather not buy and carry two of these, but I can really see how each would have it's own place.

Here are the questions I came up with: (maybe someone has already done this)

-Why not come up with a handle to use on the one with the hooks that you could slip on and off depending on the situation at hand?
- Would the pull start handle from a sled work if you tied a little loop out of 550 cord for attachment?
-Would it be strong enough?
-Maybe not a plastic one , but one of those fancy billet ones would work right?

Also how do you guys carry yours? I have a Mountain Addiction set up with two tanks and the medium bag. By the time I get my tool kit, first aid kit and a couple other items in the MA bag , there is no room for the SnoBunje. Carrying it in the back pack is not real convenient if you are a relative nOOb powder rider like me who needs it a lot.

I have the sled to sled one.
Purchased a replacement Snobunjie handle and just used a small eye bolt to attach it to one of the hooks on the bunjie.
Best of both worlds.
The sled to sled one is a bit stronger, you have to pull harder to get it to stretch.
These things are awesome and have used mine a lot.
I just wrap mine up into my tunnel mounted gas can holder. I have seen them wrapped around steering pots before.

If you are going to use the sled to sled style make sure both parties keep helmets on. I have been on 2 calls for some mighty nasty injuries when they let go. One had 37 stitches to close up the gash in his head. Best bet is stop and see Bill Harmon at the Highjacker booth and get his new style bunjie that twists up and fits in your pocket. Super small, looks like a giant o-ring and it works like a champ. While your at it buy one of his jacks also. Once you use one you will wonder how you ever got along without one.

The sled to sled one works awesome 75% of the time. The problem with trying to put a handle on it and use it like you would use the short one is that you cant get enough pull on it to get enough force to work like it should. You just have too much "bunjie cord" to get stretched out.

Bill Harmons Sled jack works even better then the bunjie because you can get it out all on your own. I use the jack most of the time but the bunjie still has its place. Eric

Never used the sled to sled one. I've got the Snobunjie with the handle, use it all the time(for my friends not me of course:face-icon-small-win). Riding a Polaris Pro RMK I don't want to pull anything with my carbon fiber bumper. I store it hooked on my tunnel rack with a bunjie securing the handle.

Sledjack sounds like a great product but the storage of it sounds like a hassle. Doesn't someone else make a jack that disassembles for easier storage?

seen a post somewhere, long ago... a guy mounted a PVC pipe under the hood, with one end open somewhere around the pull rope. just slide it in there and had easy access whenever he needed it. sounded pretty cool.

Here is what I did to my Rev chassis for easy access to the snobunjie, seen it done on BCR a guy did it on a M Series Cat and figured I`d fab it to my doo works great on this chassis if you have a headlight delete other wise not sure where else you would put it but well worth it

I have never used the snobunie so much after doin this always a hassle to dig the bunjie out from the bottom of my tunnel bag cause it always seemed to work itself to the bottom was faster at that time to just do a couple hand ski pulls this is now so easy.

I`m waiting for someone to get on my sled and go to start it and grab the bunjie handle and yank there but on the snow behind the sled, Lol hope I get that on video someday.

Would love to see this fabbed into all kinds of other chassis, definetly worth it

Good Luck, Wildcard

Buy the cobra and the rattler handle replacement pictured below. It easily slips over the cobra hook end, allowing for easy hand pulling. As far as not being able to 'stretch' it out, I do and I am only 160 pounds. The key is to pull it until tight and then lean with your body weight as opposed to 'pulling'.

Also, If you do join up with my club and head west as we have discussed, I will get you 15% off Snobunje goods.

I carry mine on my bumper as seen below, ready to go, just uncoil it, hook up and pull out my buds.

Sled jack Mounting....... Don't let this worry you. My group has been using them on several different sleds over the last 7 years. Its not hard to get them mounted so you don't even know they are there. Sometimes you mount it up high and run it along the top edge of the tunnel and other times you keep it down low. The jack block can get mounted way at the back of the sled out of the way. Eric

Snobunjes are a good idea. but i believe on todays modern sleds a ski pull is much more effiecent than wasting time with abungy. the sleds want to be on top of the snow..one guy running throttle one on a ski pull...doesnt take long.

True, my iq took two 163 pros to get me out on a 5 degree incline. My iq trenched like a boat anchor and they stayed on top of the snow towing me! Couldnt believe it is like my iq is designed to trench, it needs a snowbunji the new pros do not.

Apparently, you haven't seen my friends get stuck... LOL!

I keep a Sled to Sled coiled up on the back of my tunnel bag. Pull around in front of them, hook it up, gas it, and they're out! Quick and easy.

As an extra bonus, they usually come flying off their sled when I yank them out!!! Hilarious!!!

Were you pulling it up hill? That is a common mistake, it is a bunje it does not change the laws of physics. Always pull down hill. You have to be tactical in your strategy when using them as well.

Also, if your sled is trenching that bad I would either lay off the doughnuts or look into the set up of your clutch and skid.

Sled to Sled one gets hooked on the tunnel rack, never saw a need to put it in a bag as your always pullin out a Cat or Doo..lol!!
Seriously if you use it as your sposed to with the ski straps they flat out work!!

Did one better and its for sale. I am heavy but i got a 163 pro, hoping it will float me better, i can lose some lbs but ill always be in the 200s unless i lose alot muscle.

I tried gearing clutching and suspension tuning. Bottomless fresh snow in the trees was hard to get around, i could go up between trees pull some lines and it was fine, and i let off on a slight incline for a split second to avoid a line into some trees and im dead in the water. I also have the f bomb mod so not sure if that made it worse.

They pulled me at a angle they were flat then once i got going turned downhill in turn pulling me flat then downhill, in no way these two are rookies.

Here's a pick of how I mounted mine. I have Mountain Addiction Gas Rack and Large Storage Rack. The prior owner of the sled had to replace a few of the rear suspension bracket rivets with nut and bolt, so I took out a bolt and nut on each side and replaced them with an eyebolt, then stretch the snobunje around my Mtn Addict. racks.

i came up with custom platform for Koolpin jerrycan, and made storage for bunje and shovel inside the platform. Then I will put some flexible strap around to hold content inside
