Snobunje...do they work?

All of the men in our group ride with them and wont leave without at least 2. I wrap mine around my spare fuel can on the back, and my son carries his on the out side of his back pack. I will take pics this weeekend.

Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback very helpful!

Called Snobunje this morning with a couple questions and to order, but received voicemail...so thought I would also ask my question here as well...

Rattler or Cobra?

Rattler is the handheld, cobra hooks sled to sled. I assume the Cobra is a heavier duty version and requires more force to pull? And if so, can you also pull the Cobra by the strap as a handheld? If the Cobra serves double duty, seems like the one to go with?

Just wondering which one to buy if I only get one?

Thanks again.

They both are good products and excell in different situations. I bought the Rattler because you don't always get stuck in a location that another sled can pull up by you for the Cobra to work.

Exactly the same reason for me. :)

Snowbunjie is an awesome investment. lots of time and effort saved by pulling with another sled. only downside is that you need to be so close to the stuck sled to get hooked on. tieing some lead ropes with loops to the sleds helps that out though

I have the rattler and cobra with a skinz power pull on the way. I have never used the cobra sled to sled. Dont have the guts to have some one jerk my sled.If they would pull it tight and stop i would be fine. I did buy a billet handle and dill a tight hole in it and use the cobra like a rattler. Gets me farther away so dont get ran over by the dumb rider. Never had it get in track because of it being longer. Want to try the skinz because it will take less room. They both are great products and will work for you.

My vote is for the cobra. Have pulled out many sleds, sometimes people not even in my group :) I have an upgraded strap(2,200lb WLL) thats left on my rear bumper all the time. The cobra is lopped through my rear bumper and both ends hooked on my gas rack.

Dont hook ski loops! get on a spindle, radius rod, ball joint, just make sure it something strong. You can have a 162" trenched down to the snowflap and with no digging at all pull it right out.

It does take some time to figure out how hard you need to pull. The stuck sled also needs to be on the gas as the bunje goes tight and it also helps to rock the sled side to side.

Never had one break, BUT always keep the helmets on when pulling. Eric

Heres a vid from last season
That proves the snobunje works but I'm not sure that technique is the best where the tow sled just nails it and keeps going. I think it's best for the tow sled to load the snobunje and stop or slow down then let the stuck sled hit it and then go on.

Personally ive found that if you load it then stop, you just end up with 2 stuck sleds. In the video, both sleds gun it at the same time and as the bunjie stretches it pops the stuck sled on top of the snow

Yeah I guess you're right, it just looked a little fast.

They flat out work. Some young kid blew a corner off the trail last weekend, we pulled up to find him on a short track tripple down a step bank in super deep snow. Used 100' of rope, several guys pulling on the skiis of the short tracker and 4 long snow bunje's with two tow sleds to get him out.

I feel the snobunje is best used with a extra 15-20 feet of 1/2 rope tied to one end. Tie one end of rope to bunje and other end to bumper (xp's will need to up grade to heavy duty bumper). This way you do not have to be right next to the sled that is stuck. You can also get a better run if the sled is stuck so bad you can not see the seat. The guy on the stuck sled must be on the gas with track spinning for this to work. I have pulled out sleds taking full advatage of the 20' of run and actually seen stuck sleds catch air. Do not nook to ski loops.I have pulled out alot of sleds at full throttle with 20 feet of run and never had one brake yet (hope i never see one break cause it would hurt bad). Remember the harder you pull them the more likley they wont be able to hold on.:face-icon-small-win
