Sno Park fees go up

I'm guessing this means our registration fees will be going up too :mad:

Hello!
Staff presented the Winter Recreation Annual Report to the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission today along with a requested action item to increase sno-park permit fees.
The Commission unanimously passed to increase fees as follows:

Permit Old Fee Increase New Fee
One Day $10 $10 $20
Annual $30 $10 $40
Special Groomed $30 $10 $40

This fee increase for permits will be effective November 1, 2009 in coordination with the start of permit sales.
Please pass this word along to your clubs and organizations.
Thank you!

I always seem to get 2 passes when I register my sled. Will this additional fee be on there or is that for the purchased outright passes like the skinny skiers get?

I"m not for raising taxes on anything in this economy but this is more of a user fee and you have a choice to pay it or not and it's included for us.

I think this is a good thing and it's targeted at the people that have been getting some what of a free ride on our groomed trails. We flat need the money.

I could see $50 tabs in our future for sleds and I would pay it no problem, if it would fix out grooming and parking lot issues with $$$.

Yeah, this is good if our prices stay the same. The skiers have been getting off way to easy for a long time. They want to use the trails, they should pay an equal share of the cost.

Rt

I would pay up to 200 bucks a year.... cheap money compared to a season pass at a ski hill...

once the pass includes gas in my tank ... will be the day I pay substantially more.

Lift passes are all inclusive (land lease fee, grooming, and energy to power the lift .. throw in lift cost too) .... compare apples to apples rather than a banana comparison.:beer;

That's because you are made of MY money, remember, you just gave up HALF.

Fixed it for you.. it works if you say it... lol

My comparison stands.. .I could spend 400 dollars for a season pass at a ski hill (doesn't include me getting there, or equipment, or consumables)

or I could spend 30 bucks for a snow park pass..... To me, it is worth 200 bucks to ride and be able to park in a lot. It seems like we are all getting off pretty cheap.

Maybe, being somewhat new to being out here.. It just seems pretty cheap for what you get. I would pay 10k a year if this stuff where in the midwest.

In the information it said that the increase would not be effective until the first of november so it could still increase fees for registration. Just make sure you buy tabs for this year before then.

I also just bought all mine last week and the price was the same as it has been for a long time.
Is there information available that spells out exactly who will pay these new fees? Is is for a one day use? Will those of us who already bought our tabs and received our passed get another bill from this state?

I also would pay much more if the money paid was going strictly to our grooming and lot clearing and not some "art" project in some crack-head park in Seattle or Noise dampening walls next to I-5 or some such garbage.

anybody know what they are going to do with stampede? drove through today. lots of changes up there i assume that the equipt will be gone but lots of new obsacles in the way.

It appears that there is a project right along the eastbound lanes of I-90 right next to lake Keechelus. I looks like some type of dredging going on to remove alot of the silt that has accumulated from some of the various creeks and streams that flow into the reservour from the north or it could possibly be the start of the widening of I-90 from Hyak to the keechelus dam. I was dirtbiking up the north fork of the teanaway last sunday and as i headed back home i saw lots of dump trucks loading up and heading south on I-90. I dont know but i suspect that the trucks would dump their loads at the stampede snowpark or they are staging equipment there. If im wrong someone chime in.....

Nope, you're right. This is a six year road project. Part of the Stampede lot will be used to store dirt and equipment. This will mainly affect the part of the lot that the Mounianteers parked to get to their lodge. They have lost their parking as of now.

This issue of plowing the 54 road to the Fire Station is once again up in the air.

A private road to provide access to some cabins near the Fire Station was taken out by the Forest Service on Friday.

Every year when the grooming program runs out of money before the end of the season, everybody says they would gladly pay more money to keep it going (as long as there is accountability).

We pay NOTHING compared to Canada...groomed trails have a toll booth where you pay $20/day to use the groomed trail.

As long as there is accountability, I have no issues if the fee goes up.

Personally, I like that the skinny skiers dont pay into the grooming program...it's great ammo to shut them up when they are b!tching about us being on "their" trail. Most of them have no clue that the snowmobile tabs pay for grooming.

now...back to bashing Ruffy!! ;) :D :beer;
