Smoothing/filing running boards

I ended up ripping a couple holes in my brand new stealth bibs on the running boards ('14 pro) and im thinking about filing the sharp edges down. Has anyone done this?

Yup. Did it to mine before I hit the snow.
I used a file and knocked the edges off of all the corners of the running boards. Those serrations are razor sharp.

I filed the corners off on my 13 after destroying some Klim boots. There is no noticeable difference in grip. I would like to do my 15 but it would look like crap because of the paint. Hopefully I don't have to kick as much with the paint though.

I gave mine a file and plumbers-tape treatment before primer and paint.

Still PLENTY of traction... without the razor edges that cut my knee up and ruined my pants last year..... OUCH.
