Maybe he should have applied for a job somewhere else.
A Vernon man is behind bars after applying for a job at a jail in Mission.
Constable Kevin Cyr says the 44-year-old man had an outstanding arrest warrant, which was discovered during a background check.
“After six months on the run in connection to a large indoor marihuana grow op, the man was arrested in the Lower Mainland. The suspect was located when he applied for a job and a quick background check turned up the outstanding warrant,” says Cyr.
He says the man was arrested by Chilliwack RCMP and will be staying in their jail cells until a court appearance scheduled for December 19.
