smart carbs

My buds got a '96 600 mm with smart carbs and would like to unhook the "not so smart"parts.Is this doable or even worth the time?
Should he just install a set of flat slides?
Anybody know the size of the s carbs?
He is also looking for performance exhaust for this unit.Anyone have one for sale?

I orginally unhooked the solenoids on my sons '99. Seemed to work as far as exhaust temps were conserned ( with proper jetting). But I later changed them out along with the CDI to a trail sled carbs/CDI. They should be 36's.Their is alot of twin pipe setups around AAEN, PSI, SLP. Not too sure which is best for that year.

We messed with those thing's andlessly but in the end the trick was to rejet about 3 sizes leaner
As far as smart carbs go, they aint that smart
