Anyone ever use them? Do they does good work?

I just saw one of there ads, so I was curious.

Don't know, but I tried calling them and they didn't return my call.Their message said that they would call right back.Maybe they got their office in order but I would be reluctant to leave any of my sleds with them if I can't even get a hold of them.

Questionable IMHO

Ride with a guy that's spent a ton of money with Smail. Secondary clutch squeals something fierce when he comes to a stop. One would think a shim or two is a no-brainer...

Response to this thread is just like the response I've gotten when leaving a message on their shop phone........ hellooooooooooooo ?? Anyone there?

Maybe he's out of town or?

I have never heard a single good thing about them or their work. I know of sleds that came out of their shop straight to another one to fix what they screwed up.

Whats it rubbing against? sure its not the belt deflection? thats a no brainer.

I was gonna say the same i doubt that derrrick would let a sled leave the shop with it squealing like that. I have never seen derrick not run a sled on the stand before it left but maybe.

Well who do recommend their big chief?? Nobody is perfect and have a hard time believing that he wouldnt fix something that he messed up. Anyway pretty sure derrick isnt on here maybe like once in the last five years. He does good work, getting ahold of him to do it is another story at times. Guaranteed he had two of the fastest sleds around for a long time!

Smail performance

The main problem with Smail performance is that there isn't hardly anybody in Washington that's into big horsepower like there is in Canada. There isn't money in installing clutch kits on stock sleds, but that is dereks specialty for sure money aside. If derek lived in sicamous next to Powderlites Life would be soo much better. :/

That apex is still around, think a friend of his bought It. Iv seen it blast up everything at gc with a passenger on with him. Stupid power. He's dunn quite a few turbo revs and other high perf sleds. Some you dunners witnessed him take one of his sleds down to dune fest and mop up the competition. I didn't like his clutch set up in my first xp and ended up going a diff route. Didn't like topping out at 50 mph. If there was a problem with my mod sled that he worked on he took care of it.

He actuall changed the rules at Dunefest, no snowmobiles allowed now that they found out they couldn't beat him Lmao

How can the secondary sqeal when the sled is stopped, its not moving...? Sounds like the belt is a little snug. I've had lots of work done by Derik, he knows his stuff. I would and do recomend him.

That 1500 was a Union Bay motor built by Doug Ruth. The sled is long gone now but still a legend. Poor kwad guys, didn't like getting beat......

Derek is a buddy of mine. Hes a straight shooter that does quality work.
If you do not know how to change your belt deflection, your a retard that shouldn't be riding sleds. Almost everytime you change a belt you will have to adjust belt deflection.

Its "you're" you retard, and after spending that much money on that sled it shouldn't squeal like a stuck pig or have a cargo strap holding the intercooler in place from day one. Derek does do good work just needed to tighthen up the loose ends before giving the sled to him.
