Best choice for a Rev. What's everyone's experiences? I'm going with either or, other brands need not apply.
I have Simmons now, was going to go with the new Doo DS ski but decided against.
Thanx for the info boys!

My vote is for the powder pros, I think they were one of the BEST mods to my sled. Mines a 1000 but I ride with 3 rev 800's and one XP 800 and we all run the powder pros. I don't have any darting issues with mine but they do require some effort on a tracked up road/trail but that's not were I ride or why I bought the skis.

Plus it's easy to get a replacement ski bottom if you break something.

Never rode a set of hounds but many have good things to say.

Yeah I've been running PP's on my Cats for years but havent seen any on the Doo's where Im from. And I looked pretty close at the slydogs, almost think of trying them out.

slydogs pp

I had a set of PP on my 900rmk they made the sled turn, the stock skis would push in the turns on the trail.I have a set of powder hounds on my M7 and it tends to push in the turns, just purchased studboy shaper carbides for the powder hounds, they are supposed to help, but have not tried them yet.You can order powder hounds with the studboy shaper carbide as an option.

i have the slydogs and i love them. great flotation and still great on the trails.

I had the Slydogs on my REV and in deep snow they were perfect. On the trails (with 6" shaper bars) they also were perfect. My only complant was that when you would get that set-up snow with the crust on top the snow would grab the ski's and pull the bars right out of yoru hands. That's the reason I went back to the Simmons on mine. The Simmons my not climb up on the snow as well as the Slydogs but I did not want to run two different ski's and have to swap them out mid-season.

I have not used the Powder pro's but I have heard nothing but good things about them on a REV. Was thinking about trying those out or the new Gen III Simmons on mine.

I ordered up a set of PP's. Figure I got them on the rest of my sleds, why not the Doo!

Have 2 07's with powder pros. They are aggressive on the trail ( who cares ) and work great in the powder. I have a 174 x 2.5 and the stock skis pushed horribly bad. That is no longer a problem. Could not be happier with the PP's.

Well I have a set of C&A's for my Cat sitting here too, and looking back and forth on the Slydogs and C&A's....pretty compatable I'd say. Which means, The C&A's are very aggressive, almost to the point of scary on high speed trails and rutted goat trails. I'm sure the PP's will do fine, and it not, I'll try them on my ZX project next winter!

Thanx for your help guys!

I have a set of powder pros on my M7 and I like them a lot.. Get the powder pros!!!

I have 5 sets of different brand skis and ran both Powder pros and Slydogs.[Which were really terrible}Best backcountry ski are the Mod,s.these were designed and tested on the Rev - in the deep

You know I was in the market for some new ski's like yourself and I read ALL the forums on both those ski's and also the MODS. The PP's seem to have a good following, don't hear much bad about them..The Slydogs..people either love em or hate em..but the MODS on the REV were liked the most. I bought them (MODS) and love the looks and design..My only concern with the MODS are the carbides (really short) and if you do any pavement hoping the ski will wear a lot faster than others. Other than that, I am looking forward to riding them this season.

Hi Mark you are correct .These are for backcountry type snow. Not huge carbides. The powder pro,s are really durable however they are very stiff. When you get your new skis out in the powder let us know your thoughts. the mods also flex well and absorb small hits such as stumps and branches .set at 3/16 toe out. They really are a remarkable mountain ski.
