Slydog Boggie Wheels

I just ordered some 8" wheels and now am wondering if I made the right choice. So I was just wondering if anyone has run them and what you opinions are on them. Are they a good strong wheel.
Thanks for any input

I've got a pair of 8" on my Polaris... I run scratchers and have not had a problem....

That being said I had seen a post on here where some had warped from the heat... not sure if it was an old prototype but I got paranoid as well.....

So far so good no warping yet.....

Cheers

I wouldn't use them. I've seen them spin off the bearings on two different sleds. If you want lightweight I would run Fabcrafts composite wheels. Edit: Maybe it was owner error?

i have run them for 2 years 1500 plus miles. i have had the 8" spin off a bearing but slydog was great in the customer service. i continue to run them and really like em.

I have had a different set of 8" wheels on (3) different sleds, over 2500 miles combined, no issues, no bearing failures, (Make sure you mount the the correct side out so that the "fins" excavate the snow.) I also lube them down the end of each season with "Fogging Oil."

I highly recommend them.

The bearing issues are not a function of the wheels... more the use and abuse that they can take from too much track tension, huge HP, salt from trailering, water etc...

The Slydogs wheels that I have use NTN USA bearings... top notch quality.

I like mine.

I am going to run two inside wheels, do you still just mount them as you order them left on the left and the right on the right?

All 3 of our sleds are the 2 wheel kits mounted on the inside. Yes, mount them L to L & R to R, they may look confusing when you get them, so look at the inside of the wheels at the "fins", hold the wheel up to the spot where it will be inside the suspension, and rotate it in the forward motion and watch the "inside fins", imagine snow hitting the outside surface you are looking at, and if it would direct the snow away from the interior of the skid (good), or into the interior of the skid (bad). Mount it so it directs snow away from the interior of the skid ;)

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry i have seen two different sleds with the two inside wheel kits, that the inside dia, where the bearing sits was so hogged out it could not hold a bearing. it had nothing to do with the bearing but the soft plastic. But hey others are having good luck and they do look cool. There are both side represented here so make your decision. But you will remember this conversation some day;)
