I went through this with the Sly Dog Skis last winter. We had stocker skis, C&A, Simmons and Sly Dogs. If looking for a ski that you use on trail mostly and a little in the power the C&As hands down. You turn, the sled turns, no matter what, if you can turn the steering wheel. The C&A where liked by everyone over all.
Slydogs were very light and I loved them in the powder, carving or side hilling. Once on the trail you have to run them for a while to get use to them. If you come into the corners hard and then let off to make the corner it would shoot you right off the corner. If you let off just prior to the corner and then punched it going through to get weight on the front end and the ski on a cutting edge I had no issues. I have 07 M1000 so it really surprised me with the front end weight I had to punch it to get the skis to grab. Just to clarify if the ski is on edge in the corner and you keep it on edge I never really had any problems.
I never did put the Slydogs on the crossfire and then go down the trail like I was in a snocross race to see how hard I could push the ski before it lost its steering capability. I did with the C&A and it held as hard as anyone in our group wanted to push into the corners and three of them have raced snocross.
I did like the Sly Dogs well enough to buy a set, but I won't be racing them down the trail either. THe C&A are stuck on the crossfire.
