SLP Torque Arm in stock?

With the compfusion front mounts it shouldn't be needed. I also wanted the engine mounts to be able to absorb more of the vibration and not transmit it to the body.

I was going to run both the SLP arm and comp motor mounts just for good measure...but I don't know enough about the 900 to know any better. Is everyone who has the comp motor mounts ditching the SLP torque arm?

Ok, there was one other reason. The specs for the slp torque around call for the gap between the clutch alignment tool and the back of the clutch to be 0.0 to .020. The engine will move under acceleration and line these up but it you are bolting a torque arm on with the clutches further out you are locking the belt alignment out.

In other words the clutches on my sled are never able to achieve perfect alignment with the torque arm on it and it is actually contributing to belt heat on my sled.

Indydan also said do not run it so I took it off to see how it would do. I need to run the sled a few days before I decide if I am going to leave it off permanently.

Not sure, but the compfusion mounts prevent the engine from moving as much in the exact same direction as the torque arm. The engine mounts are there to allow the engine to move and not transmit all the vibration to the chassis otherwise they would just bolt it solid to the bulkhead. By bolting it to solid other parts will start to fail from the increased stress and vibration, like the stock crossmember.

Thnaks for the reply Zman. Please let us know wheather you keep the tourqe arm off or put it back on after a few rides.

I have put on about 600km on my Compfusion mounts this year so far with no SLP arm.
Still on the first belt, clutches stay cool, couldn't be happier.

I think this right here answers the question. No need for the SLP arm with the compfusion mounts.

Compfusion mounts. Colin said he redesigned them to they supported the crossmember better, so you shouldn't need the billet crossmember.

Good to know. I talked to him about updating the design. The problem is the cut out for the steering in the stock crossmember seriously weekens it. It is surprising that they all don't break, even with the stock mounts.
