SLP single pipe cracked

I bought a used slp single pipe for my 17 axys 2 seasons ago. While in revy I was making a pull to get out of a small bowl and wasn’t able to get over 7600rpm and the sled sounded horrible. Once I got to the top I noticed that the factory weld around the exhaust temp sensor had split....ending my trip to revy a few hrs early.

Anyone else have this issue??

It was/is pretty common. They changed the design a little to address this problem. I think it's also why the hose clamp is there.

I don't own one but I've definitely seen it discussed here. Seems to be a thing.

Even the newest version cracks like crazy.

I’ve seen 9 cracked slp axys 800 pipes personally

I’m glad it wasn’t just me having issues.
I replaced it with a jaws pipe but I personally think the slp pipe pulled harder so I’m going to get a friend to weld it for me and put it back on

My friends cracked around the temp sensor and mine just past the head pipe portion. SLP replaced both but both broke right at 1 year old.
