what head gaskets/o-rings for slp power package on 06 summit x

I need to know what type of gaskets/o-rings to get to replace on the upper end. I have a small coolant leak, and just reset after a string of check engine issues. I went for 35 miles yesterday with no real issues. Looks like it was over revving and causing detonation, over rev, over heat warnings.

Any one know what I need to order?

You need to order the 4 Orings for the top of the cylinders. And a new base gasket I dont Know What thickness the 06 models were But 04 and 05 models usually used a # 6 And I have seen some with #5 base gasket. Remove your old Base gasket and count the holes that are inbetween the cylinders holes, That will tell you the thickness. You can also use a Micrometer and measure the thickness of the Gasket. When you install the new Base Gasket You need to apply Loctite # 518 sealant to both sides of the Gasket.

Is the base gasket for the top end or for the bottom of the jugs? I dont see a gasket on the BRP schematic and SLP doesnt mention one for the install. Who could I call to get the gasket from that would know what it is for the year?

I dont want to pop the head untill I have all the parts.

Base gasket is under the cylinders. You could order a 5 and a 6 to be safe. Because it probably one are the other.

If you have a full Slp performance package for a 800 HO 04-06 they run ported cylinders so the gasket should have been replaced once. Just take the top end apart and make shure you get the right parts.

So I only need the o-rings to do the top end correct? I dont plan to pull the jugs only the head, flush coolant, replace o-rings, and be done. No base gasket needed for that right?

No base gasket is required for that. Base gaskets do fail and can leak Antifreeze into the motor also. Just Keep that in mind.

WOW you got the SLP performince package Holly **** lol that's $1800.00 lol i wish i had the darn money for that lol though it would prob be $2300.00 for me since i'm canadain lol I would love 163 HP maybe someday lol.

THanks for the input. You guys chime in everytime and answer all my questions. I bought the sled with the package on it and the guys who owned it before me bought it pre season and had the package installed then. Its also geared down to a 19 tooth. Pretty snappy. However, my fiance on her stock 02 edge 700 still pulls away on the trail. DAMMMMMIT I want it all!
