SLP pipe without PC5?

Has anyone ran their PRO with the SLP pipe and no tuner?

I was wondering if this pipe would run well with just the ethanol plug.... but using non ethanol fuel?

From what i understand is that all the ethanol plug does is add 5% fuel.... this should work.

Also has anyone run Brads head and the SLP pipe?

slp actually pulled fuel in certain points of the map and added some in others. so yes, my guess, is the sled probably wouldn't seize if you ran the ethanol plug but it might not run much better than stock. if you have a head slp has another map to run. brad doesn't think you should need a different map but slp does.

Last year running stock 2011 163" track i ran the stock 10-62 weights and would consistently pull 8100-8300 RPM.

Now I am running Brads head and HPS can.... I have added weight to the primary and now run 10-64 and the sled pulls 7950-8150 on long pulls.(6000 ft)

I am looking for a little more.... and thought that the SLP pipe would give me that extra 5-6 hp. Just not sure a guy needs that PC5.

pipe

i have installed brads 13.6 head and i got a aeen pipe on order, going to use the stock can. brad says you do not need a controler with his head, also aeen says you do not need a controler if running just there pipe and stock can. They are claiming big mid range gains with just the pipe, i will be doing some testing when the pipe comes. Just another thought becouse i did not want to spend about a 1000 bucks on slps pipe and can and power commander, i will be in the aeen pipe for less then 350 buck.

TRUST SLP!!! They dont make chit off PCV. If they say you need it they have done the testing and you need it. They would gladly sell you a pipe & not deal with the fuel controller if they could. I learned that lesson the hard way on my m8 thanks to a guy that didn't believe SLP's recommendations and didn't mention it to me.

@pp6.. for real? I looked into the AAen as well after reading the DynoTech pipe shootout, but after speaking with the Tech there, he said that a fuel controller would be necessary. That seemed odd to me as DTR made no mention of playing with fuel settings during the pipe shootout but I took his word for it as he works there/builds the product.
Wonder if the mapping in the '12's is slightly different? That's a great pipe for this Poo motor, but budget is strained after a new truck, harley and sled lol.
No fuel controller puts that pipe back to the head of the class if true..

I would definitely go with the Aaen pipe if it'll run with no controller. All depends on the engineering behind it, right? Are they a quieter system like slp? I would probably run the stock silencer just to keep it quiet.

Aaen says no controller w stock can, less peak hp, but PCV w Aaen's can for more peak. SLP is both pipe and can. Having SLP pipes & cans in past, there is a real difference in airflow w their can vs. others. I would think good fuel would be a must w the Aaen and no PCV, maybe eth plug, too. Time will tell, but I'm very interested, also.
