just read slp is claiming 7.6 hp gain on their pipe set or some thing close to that what happened to the 11+ hp their were say it would make:face-icon-small-sad and you gotta do the pcV i'd be curious to see what hp gain you get by doing the intake and pcV alone ?? anybody know?
also i did'nt see a weight savings. is there?

not bashing slp they make good stuff just wondering what we're getting for all those bucks

7.6 hp gain is not a lot for the amount of $$$ your shelling out. I'd start with some venting and some clutch work and call it good for starters.

The pipe for the 08-10 dragons was in the same range (6+hp) as this one for the Pro. Call SLP, they will be very up front with you and most likely say that at 7.6 hp they didn't see a big increase in power but the rpm's were more consistant and the rpm's didn't fade off on a very long pull at wfo...In my opinion SLP makes the best and has built a very good reputation of being honest about what their product(s) do. If you have a grand to spend and want the extra little bit go for it.

My brother was in at grizzly sports this afternoon they just got 3 pipes in and were going to run one either friday or saturday, he also said can looks huge they told him no weight savings and 7.5 horse .

This subject was brought on SLP's Facebook page. Here is their copied & pasted response:

The original 11.1 hp number was preliminary (as specified on the original graph) as it was based on a straight pipe. When we fit the pipe to the chassis we had to change the design somewhat to accommodate the tight chassis fit and the numbers came back a bit from our original prototype pipe. This production pipe delivers a true 7.6 hp peak with good midrange and torque gains. It is showing extremely well in the field and we are confident that customers will be very pleased with it.

Hope that answers your questions.

Best bang for your buck?

I would be interested to do a side by side comparison of SLP pipe set-up and a Power Addictions head. SLP has a great reputation and makes some phenomenal products, but I am thinking on this sled it could be a swing and a miss. What is the final price after you have to add a fuel controller? Around 1000 dollars? I think a new head is around 350, substantially less money. Or look at it this way, both are going to void your warranty, unless your dealer is willing to "manipulate" Polaris's warranty policy. How about a shiny new set of shocks? Like some Z Bros or the Fox's? Will those void your warranty as well? IMO more bang for your buck going that route. Like I said, not a knock on SLP, just my measly 2 cents.

SLP is working on a head as well. Better dome design and bumped compression. Should be a good gain as well...

Then what are the correct specs Justin????

Who is Justin?

This is one way to look at it. I have not used Brad's head but I have herd good things about his stuff. Keep in mind the pipe kit does reduce some weight as well.

You are correct. We are working on a stage three kit which will include the pipe kit, PCV, VForce3 reeds, clutching, and a head. The kit is showing excellent power and throttle response gains through the hole curve but more importantly a bunch of torque. Hopefully it will be ready in a week or so.

It is nice to see a representative from a well known aftermarket company on the forum. Especially one that doesn't bad mouth another companies product and puts as much time into R and D as they do. Thanks for the info Dustin.

I have ridden the pro with SLP's single pipe on it.....and it flat rips!!!! The horsepower numbers don't sound huge, but when you get on one of these and pull the trigger, it flat out rips and goes way harder than you could imagine, really brings this motor to life. I highly recommend giving one a try.

It was very nice to see SLP sticking to their guns and not releasing the pipe/can till it was ready for the consumer.

I've been to the SLP plant.... talked to the people there and they take pride in what they do ...

These days....the factory does not leave that much on the table...I believe that SLP works very hard to find what is there and give it to you in a way that is dependable for the consumer.
