SLP Flash

Picked up a new Pipe/can earlier this fall for the 900, called the "local" Polaris dealer last week about getting the flash for it and he acted as if I was working on an old RXL and needing the Select Monitor hooked up to it or something, told me to call back this week and he'll see what he can find out about it and if they can even still do it 'cause they haven't done one since '06. Called back today, nope, couldn't do it and wouldn't even know how to get answers on how to do it.

Bottom line.... that sure helped me decide where I'm NOT going to be buying a new sled in the future.

get ahold of a different dealer, they will flash your ecu to stock flash or SLP flash, but if you dont have the code from SLP, you will have to talk directly with SLP and see if they will send the code to your dealer and allow them to retrieve the code from them with their computer system...

if your dealer doesnt have a code loaded already, slp is your only saving grace ;) but they are hard to battle on this one...trust me.

Can anyone tell me if the SPL pipe reflash makes a noticable difference? Is it really worth the hassle of dealing with the dealer to get it?

It's an 05 so it doesn't require a code. I've gotten ahold of a dealer that'll do it, just have to drive half a day to get there. Thinkin it might be more hassle than it's worth.

you must run the slp flash on the slp pipe...no safe way to not do it IMO. and i wouldnt run the stock pipe with the slp flash either.

From Adam at SLP.... "the 05 does not require a code to install the flash, the 06 does". They both need a flash but for whatever reason there is a code associated with one and not the other.

06 slp flash required a pipe & can purchase from slp, they sent a code along with them to give to the dealer. They would not send one with just a can purchase. 05 the dealers had the code, they would do it at your request. I did the slp flash with just a slp can and regretted it, stuck the mag side piston @ mid-range. Now would it have stuck with the slp pipe I cant tell you but the slp flash does leans it out for a fact, yes there was a noticeable difference but not worth it. Go get a dyno port exhaust and leave the updated polaris re-flash, you'll be money ahead.

Must be from back east. So you ran the SLP flash with a stock pipe and stuck a piston? Isn't that on you?

Don't try and run a SLP pipe flash with a stock pipe. They don't like to run very well. There is a big difference in the mapping.

If you are having a hard time finding a dealer to load the SLP reflash, just send it Carls Cycle. I know they can do it.

The 05 (and 06's for that matter) when piped and flashed with an SLP pipe and can are money and worth it. There's reason why 98% of the 900's out there are running their pipes.

always run 100:1 premix in the 05-06 700/900...even the dragons should be doing this, regardless if flash, and you wont have the lean spot...its more then just the SLP flash... ;)

Didnt mean to upset anyone here, yes the decision to that was mine 100% as others have done it seems with no problems from other posts . My conclusion comes from the fact that I still have my 94 500 efi (1st new sled) & filling both tanks full & trail riding with my wife the 500 would have over a 1/4 tank left and the 900 would just be wet on the bottom with factory updated re-flash. After the slp flash the 900 would use a gallon less @ fill up than the 500. Thats a HUGE swing. Would the pipe have stopped that? Did the dealer do something wronge? My sled was fast to begin with just not as snappy on the trail as I liked. There are alot of different set-ups on these posts and I should have been clearer , if you dont want to re-flash go with dynoport, if you do get the complete slp set up dont chance it. I like my slp can and other products of theirs I have added to my sled. This is just my opinion from my experience thats all.

SLP pipe & can require reflash,SLP can does NOT. Stock pipe = stock updated flash
06 is different injection + different flash.
CHECK exhaust probe while hooked up to digital wrench for proper operation!! They had problems lazy and sticking.
