Picked up the SLP Can with the muff pot mount today along with a Muffpot. Tired of cold food...

Anyway.... the silencer came with all the hardware to mount to the sled, and a bag with two rivets.... no mention what so ever in the instructions (paper or on SLP's website) for wtf they are for.

I *ASSUME* they are meant to mount the Muffpot to the bracket on the silencer... But there are no holes in the bracket on the Silencer.

Any experience?

I have two neither of mine came with rivets but my first attempt to mount the cooker with rivets it came loose on the first ride the rivets were aluminum though. I ended up using small stainless bolts with Allen head tops nylock nuts and lots of high temp loctite so far so good on staying tight but it was very difficult to get the nuts on. I tried Phillip head bolts first but was unable to get those tight enough.

I emailed SLP, responce below :

"With the cooker mount, you are going to want to take the hood off, with the hood off install the side panel then set the muffpot one the bracket and adjust the cooker so it does not touch the side panel. Then mark out on the muffpot holder and drill 2 holes into the mount and then rivet it into place."

Simple enough...

Will post pictures when I install it if needed.

Missed a weld..

Installed the can tonight, fired up the sled.....

They missed a spot welding where it goes from the pipe to the can under the bracket for the muff pot.

Leaks like crazy... :face-icon-small-dis

I hope Carl's will exchange it.. really don't want to put the stock one back on...

I wouldnt be concerned, they will take care of you.

I just used a 3/16" x 1/2" aluminum and bent a bracket around the top pipe of the can inlet. Drilled a hole in each end and put a bolt through it to clamp on the muffpot. Works great and sits level.

Got any pictures you can share?

Exchanged it no questions asked after I "leak tested" it for them on the counter. ;-) Back in business..

First ride with it yesterday.

ZERO issues taking a frozen calzone from Costco from a rock to perfect melty goodness in 4 hours of riding in 15deg weather. :face-icon-small-coo

Can sounds freaking amazing as well, so bonus.
