Christopher..when the pages lock up your system is showing "waiting for http:/ad.doubleclick.net. Until that responds your pages just sit and wait.

Advertising networks like doubleclick.net are evil. They are spammers, they track private information, and they are a spectacular waste of bandwidth.

Does Snowest have an Opt-Out feature for your ad cookies?

ad.doubleclick.net is actually usually just a cookie that is set by doubleclick.net which is an independent advertiser for people. The place pop-ups/unders on websites and pay the websites for it. It is usually nothing to worry about but sometimes there are virus' hidden within them.

I hate to say it but they are usually found on "Naughty" (not just ****, but gaming related etc) websites including youtube

There is no speed problem that I can detect at the moment???
Right now the site "seems" to be moving along just fine.

4-5 seconds for new posts to appear consistently.

If it was slow before, it seems to have sped itself back up to the same point it was last night after we corrected the Kernel error.

I have not done any speed tests during the day, but the current tests look pretty solid.

There isn't a forum website on the web that I use that is as slow as this one. It's been that way for several months and not one day has it ever changed.

I have been having speed problems off and on the past few days. This is the first time for me, but it is really annoying! Also it seems that our old (2004) computer at home picked up the infamous Snowest virus last week. I ended up buying a new computer after 3 hours of trying to fix it. It wasn't worth bringing it in and spending money on it.

That bug came from the Harris Servers, not the SnoWestOnline server.

As soon as it showed up we reported it back them and they got rid of it, but not nearly fast enough to stop it from effecting some of our members first.
