Slim's Afton Massacre II

oh, still stuck in dickinson! posting on my phone so dont flame away too much!

had a blast riding with you guys, hope to do it again soon! i'll have more to post later when i get to a puter.

hey bj, u talk like u were there? whats the deal? so your infamous 860 got beat (numerous times by the way, on a deep and steep hill along with the loooooooong gradual run that went up to a fairly decent incline)... big freakin deal. it sure wasnt the pilot as ralph is one of the best riders i've gotten to ride with. now if your trying to say "your" 860 was hanging with the turbos youre dreaming. ralphy amazed me the way he rides, just think what he'd do on a turbo! shoulda seen the perma-grin he was wearing after he hopped on my sled. the 860 poo beat the 860 doo, no excuses or arguements from anyone there.

oh, and for the record, the apex on 18-19lbs boost gets me at 11-12lbs by about 2 sleds. lil more boost will fix that though!

Your right...I wasnt there:(...but they make "cell phones" and "video cameras"...it was week old snow (deep?? on the backside of the hills I'm sure, saw a pic or 2)... on ONE climb Ralph went up were Allen did and nobody else (read poo 860) did (thats a true statement)...as for "drag racing" I'm pretty sure all will agree a 16 wide 2.5" track aint built for speed...I can safely say in 2-3' of powder and pointed up a hill (not a looooong gradual run on week old snow) the tables would turn...thats all I said...

As for the POO and other mods all were impressive and ran well, @ Slim didnt blow up his new engine!!!! (that video/cell phone thing again), I'm sorry you crashed/got hurt, hope all is well...:beer;-BJ

Actually the M8 was the one that shined in 2-3' of fresh snow. The Smith Fork trip was a real eye opener for a lot of people. Matt22 can attest to that one. He beat his own mark that he made on his M1000. I was on a borrowed M8 and it was very impressive.

Conditions? track? Huh, maybe it was Diesel in the tank? Blah blah blah. FACT:On this day in these conditions; your motor got it's azz handed to it. Even Ralphy admitted it on the hill. Take it like a man and quit being a whiney ***** BJ. Will your 860 kick azz on a day w/ lots of pow? Maybe, maybe not. Unfortunately we probably won't know untill next year when it snows again. So let's just take this for what it is. We ran em in the conditions we had at the time. We all had a great time, and nobody whinned or even bragged about the results. Until now.

BJ's dead on about any drag race (ona flat or upa hill) with that track, takes lot of hp to spin it,if drag races are your thing, you're screwed:eek:. I don't even bother anymore, just look for deeper snow and see who gets stuck.

Is greatest for deep snow traction. Am sure the 174x3 is better.:)

Yep, the 163X2.4 track on the Polaris 860 is the ULTIMATE drag race track, made all the difference right there.

Motor builders are very sensative about their products. If they haven't realized that sleds have good days and bad days then they need to get out of the sport. My 600 ran like azz all day. Come to find out I have a torn carb boot and a scewed up secondary. Did I wrench on it all day? NO. I rode all day and had fun. Slim was messing with clickers all day on his 800. I gave him hell about it, but Slim knows that there was more performance in his sled. He likes to tinker and get the most out of his sled. Did he have fun? Yup. We all razz each other about our sleds and have to be a little thick skinned about it. So in the imortal words of Happy Gilmore: " Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a sh*t."
PS my sled will still waste Drinkle's.

You all are great fun to ride with and can not wait till next year! O by the way 9" inches of fresh pow at my house in the last two days this weekend will be great:D:D:D
