Slider replacement

Anyone have advice on changing sliders without dropping the skid? I have a 151 rev and a camoplast extreme.

I have been told the sliders will pull/push through the track windows but am not having a lot of luck.

After some hammering and puling I have them almost through but i don't want to rip the track either.

Cheers

Cut your track window just a tad bigger with a utility knife also have someone pull on slider with a pair of vice grips as you tap it off. dawn dish soap works really good for sliding them back on. One other thing don't enlarge two windows in the same place on the track stager them. good luck :beer;

This might be obvious but track needs to be loose as possible. Once you get the slider off the skid ...twist it side ways 180 degrees so it fits through the window better. Also WD-40 works very well to make it slip easier. Visegrip or drill a hole in the end and hook it with something and pull. Good luck

On my 06, I used an air hammer with the ''forked" bit and they slide out the track window. I worked with a loose track and made sure the slider was indeed headed out the window and not binding. Drove the new one in in with hammer and block of wood.

changed mine, took about 30 min start to finish. make sure the track is good and loose. screw a large sheet metal screw or something similar in the back of the old sliders after removing the bolt that holds them in place, the put a slide hammer on the screw and give it a few taps to get it moving. adjust track to make sure window is lined up. use liquid dish soap with a little water to lube the window if needed. dont use wd 40 or other oil product as they will start to disolve the rubber in the track.
