Slidekicks Scratchers?

i use them and think they are great got them on mine a 600 and everyone i ride with uses them

i rode my brand new 900 twice in the past couple weeks and i decided that they were not needed yet but i still might get them. they are used to kick up snow and keep your sled cool if it runs hot. you can either have them down or pick them up when your sled is not running hot. it also help save your hyfax and makes them last quite a bit longer. they are a good investment as they are not too expensive.(avg. $40 per pair)

hope this helps make your decision

I run two sets at once and love them. never have Temp problems anymore. Never put them up either.

No

Tryed them...they dont throw enough ice or hard packed snow onto the track as they dont have enough down presure as the steel spring type. On the positive side you cant hurt them if u back up with them down. Steel spring type for me. Dino

i have em on my sled to, i seem to run the same temps as with the wires 127ish, but i did over rotate mine to try to get them to "dig" in a bit more, curious to see the durability as mine are fairly new

i would have to agree...i have never personally run them...but i have done alot of reading on them...

just dont see how the can be as good as spring loaded steel ones...

i run SummitSeeker (on the forum) "Over The Top" scratchers and i have never gone above 128 or so...trail or powder...

but if you guys are running that low of temps..either the snow is GREAT..or you proved they work..

regardless..you NEED some type of scratcher..PERIOD!!

I have heard the early ones they sold were not as good as the current ones. I have a new set that put plenty of snow/ice in my track and kept the temp to about 135 on hardpack/ice. The only complaint I would have is mine won't stay stowed on the rails when I have them up. (could be where I mounted them) You can get eyelets to mount that you loop them through which I'm installing prior to my next ride. Overall good product. Mine were $70 at the dealer.

Like he said they had a lot of trouble with the early design, not enough tension. These new ones are a lot more stout than you would guess from pics online. I was very surprised when I first got mine.

I live in ND where no one should have a long-track and mine stays cool all the time. Right now our snow is hard as a rock from the last week of -10 to -15 temps day or night and I am still doing great. Last year I had a set of Holz wire scratchers and with my memory, I broke them Quick.

IMHO if you can remember to put them up everytime you reverse, get SummitSeekers. If you can't remember what day of the week is, try the slide-kicks.
